  1. Josh says:

Great As usual, no LA talk this time around though…I’m going to be in LA in April, as an east coaster where can a get good food and good beer? What are some LA standards I have to check out, I’ll be there for a week for Star Wars Celebration so I have plenty of time!
    Any recommendations appreciated!

  2. Dave Coil says:

Yelling “SHARON!” probably comes from The Osbournes. Ozzy bellowed that across the house whenever he needed anything.

  3. Jennifer says:

It was great to hear you guys hang out again.  So bummed to hear Chris is in a relationship again, not for him but for all us nerd girls.  She better treat you amazing.

  4. britney says:

Jonah, read the book Against the Stream by Noah Levine. I think you may find some help with your resolutions in there. Happy New Year guys 🙂

  5. Nikki says:

I too wish I could be content with what I have, rather than having anxiety about what I want to achieve/what will happen if I don’t achieve it.But I think that’s something a lot of people struggle with. But the grass is always greener because from where I’m sitting, Jonah, you have ‘made it’ and have gotten a hell of a lot farther than I have as of now. I guess the only time it would be okay to have that “oh why do you have this and not me?!” feeling is when someone didn’t work for it and basically had it handed to them when you’ve been working hard to achieve the same thing. But unfortunately, THAT person is always going to be around to piss someone off.
something funny that happened this year: got fired for no reason, was unemployed for 3 months, and then got hired at a higher salary by the competitor hah!

  6. Scully says:

The hostful yearly retrospective is always one of my favorite episodes. Great job this year guys!
I am still freaked out over what 2015 holds but sometimes it is good to take stock of what you have accomplished to make the future feel more attainable. This year has been a super crazy amazing one I could not have imagined in my wildest dreams. I went to LA to work on a film with an amazing group of people. Performed as a hoop dancer with a band at Warped Tour for several stops. I started performing on stage regularly with a local burlesque troupe. And scariest of all I left my office job to become an instructor and performer in the aerial arts.
I know Nerdist is mostly for entertainment purposes but I always feel like I am learning something about working towards your goals and having the grit to see things through. I like to think of it as my weekly pep talk 🙂

  7. This past year I created and hosted a live music podcast (Ink in Stereo) which is evolving into a new format that will be live in front of an audience with live music. Inspired by the Kevin Smith episodes of the nerdist as well as all the hostfulls.

  8. cyd says:

As per podcast suggestion, Some of What I Accomplished This Year: 1) Adopted dog from PAWS 2) Ported several Linux utilities to Android (git, curl, openssl) C) Bootstrapped GCC 4.8.3 on Android D) Learned how to speak more Welsh (most of the beginning of Captain America: TWS) 5) lost 16 lbs 6) Had a photo published on 1x

  9. dana says:

i am behind on my nerdist podcasts, but i always drop everything for hostfuls! happy new year, guys!

  10. GrantGunderson says:

Looks like Hardwick has “Singled Out” a new gal pal. Not a bad way to start the new year sir.

  11. Danielle says:

I appreciated the suggestion to make a list of the year’s accomplishments. I had been feeling as though I’d done nothing until I wrote everything down, and the list just kept piling up! Here are my highlights: I lost 70lbs (1/2 of my now healthy body weight!), saved $1500 (a fortune for a grad student), overcame my fear of the dentist, and made a couple of awesome new friends.
Anyway, thanks for keeping me motivated this year, and I wish you guys all the best in 2015!

  12. Travis says:

Good on Matt for the weight he’s lost, and for being honest about the struggle with food addiction. I’ve lost 70 l lbs this year and one of my motivations was how open he’s been about his efforts.

  13. Joey Castle says:

Something I did in 2014 that I’m happy about is that I started taking improv classes. And I can honestly say that listening to your podcast is what inspired me to do so; I’m really grateful for that!

  14. Jon B says:

Fatpeoplehate is full of the worst human beings alive. I’m really disappointed in Matt for going there.

  15. Matt says:

Just listened to the podcast this morning. As someone with an eating disorder myself, I appreciated bringing awareness to the struggle of walking that fine line with food, since it’s essential to eat in order to survive. Keep fighting the good fight, Matt!

  16. ShouldIBeMadAtAMC says:

I don’t think I have seen anything about what is going to happen to the AMC filmed Celebrity Bowling.  Is Nerdist going to be able to show them?

  17. I love these. I would love to see these podcasts as a web sit-com type show, like Maron or something.

  18. Catherine says:

    Dear Santa, Chris, Nerdist:
May you please host Wanda Sykes or Rita Rudner in 2015?
    With Warm Regards.
    A Fan.

  19. GP says:

Fun hostful, though I do wish JR would work on his delivery as the countless ums and uhs in his sentences distract from the point.

  20. Alex says:

So happy to hear a hostful!

  21. Narrator says:

Is this where I sign up for Matt Mira’s Shitlord 101 class?

  22. George Jefferson says:

Chris’s romantic real estate valuation is impressive! At this rate, his next girlfriend is going to be Princess Lilandra from the Shi’ar Empire.

  23. John Franks says:

I HATE all fat people too.  They should all be put in concentration camps…or executed!

  24. Mark Harbison says:

Congratulations on a great year of podcasting!

  25. J. Smith says:

Great way to spend another night at work.  Looking forward to seeing you in Royal Oak, sir.

  26. HereToStay says:

A great to end the year! I too, like Matt, will try to join the Shit Lords!

  27. troy says:

I keep expecting Nick from the old studio to show up in the background of one of these hostfulls.

    • I really miss Nick’s old popping in on the hostfuls, he should be invited back for a podcast —– in fact, more old friends should be brought back ! Tom Lennon anyone?!

  28. Misty Rowe says:

A great holiday gift and wonderful way to end 2014. Everyone at Nerdist deserves a hug for a year well done. Thank you for the hard work, and here’s to 2015 being even better.

  29. PizzaParty says:

“The nicest person ever”   Take that old model gf!Good chunk of time being single– was that like 3 months?

  30. Scotty says:

I was so hoping for a hostful at the end of the year. Best Holiday Gift!
