Nerdist Podcast: Dick Costolo

Chris storms Twitter HQ (or “Bird Palace,” as he calls it) for a super fun one-on-one with Dick Costolo: computer scientist, former improv comedian, and current CEO of Twitter!

  1. Bruce Markey says:

Chris, I hope you enjoyed your visit to Twitter HQ. We like to call it @twoffice! The new sign on the corner of the building has become a bit of a scene stealing TV star.

  2. Todd E. says:

Regarding the question about ICANN…prior to ICANN, all registrations were ultimately handled by Verisign, which was a private company. I’m not entirely sure what the history was of them winding up in that spot, but with one thing or another, people felt that they weren’t very neutral, and that this was negatively affecting the whole process, so there was a government push to hand the process off to ICANN instead.

It’s not clear that this handoff actually achieved what they were looking for, in the long run.

  3. Nichole says:

Chris – I love hearing the banter between you and Chloe! Y’all so cute! Would it be too unprofessional to have her on the podcast? haha

  4. chris hardwick says:

    @Disappointed: LOL. Riiiiiiiiiight. UNSUB!

  5. Effhashtags says:

Twitter is the worst. If for no other reason than “hashtags”.

  6. Smiles says:

    @ Disappointed Commenter

Wait until the rest of your reality comes crashing down. Soon you’ll wake up, and you’ll realize that you’re sharing memories with every other person in the city, and that you really don’t know the way to Shell Beach.

  7. Jesse says:

You should go whine about the podcast on TwitterOH WAIT.

  8. Disappointed says:

This podcast used to have interesting guests. It was my go to. Maybe it’s time to go back to just twice a week instead of padding the episodes with filler. I mean Maron has Will Ferrell on while you give us this?

  9. What Happened To The Quemments says:

Chris didn’t say “Enjoy Your Burrito”.

  10. JetpackBlues says:

This episode officially puts Nerdist neck-and-neck with WTF, both with 450 episodes!

  11. Anthony says:

Good overall interview, but from a business perspective this was an insightful and stellar interview. Made me want to know what Dick Costolo thinks about how Google has slowly killed FeedBurner.

  12. chris hardwick says:

@zer0: dammmmmmit!!!! you are right to point this out.

  13. zer0zer0 says:

Only 3 seconds into the podcast and Chris needs to be corrected. This is episode 450, not 350. Don’t worry, we still love you! Thanks for coming to Minneapolis last week!
