"Borrowed Time" Is What Pixar Animators Make on Their Days off

  1. Pauch says:

I’ve spent the past few months starting at the beginning of the Nerdist because I’m a completionist (GODDAMMIT). I haven’t made a comment until today. I needed to say thank you to Kyle for mentioning Andrew Jackson Jihad. In all of the talk of punk music Jonah has done, he’s shied away from mentioning a lot of the more modern bands (except Against Me! I think he mentioned them once). So, thank you. I hope you and Jonah continue to reference punk bands, even if no one else gets it, because I will.

  2. Alwin says:

I added Crap Kingdom to my wishlist on 10-27-12, and I was getting deja vu all throughout this hilarious episode. Because I first heard him on

  3. rhalfr says:

    your interviews are annoying

  4. Patty Marvel says:

@Porle – Agreed! So was the riffing on Gallagher’s name, though I was surprised that Gallifrey wasn’t mentioned.

  5. Porle says:

The Deadwood Open Mic Night bit was amazing awesome! Too clever!

  6. Cam says:

I think I sprained something laughing at all the randomness. Thank you for the chuckle-hurts.

  7. Ken Majewski says:

I always theorized that it was called Derrick because their names all began with D. I love hearing that I was right.

  8. Alex says:

Over all a great episode! My only issue is Chris’ habit of taking pot shots at religious people. For the record, I’m not religious – but firstly considering nerds have struggled so long with being the butt of the joke isn’t this a bit harsh on some listeners who may be totally down with nerd culture whilst being religious? And isn’t implying religious people are idiots two weeks after having Yyvette Nicole Brown the show a touch hypocritical?

  9. Patty Marvel says:

My copy of “Crap Kingdom” arrived from Amazon the day after this podcast went up! Sweet! Since I preordered it, I think my name is supposed to be included in a rap.

  10. Katie Rakoczy says:

I just died when the Ghostbusters 2 song was attempted, my sister and I watched that movie way too many times growing up. I don’t know the words either!

DC Pierson’s stand up is really great, I gave it a listen after the podcast and I loved it!

  11. Jennifer Davies says:

Loved the Opus Dei Teenagers 🙂

  12. Ace says:

This was one of the funniest episodes in a super long time, and it was only toward the end when you guys started talking about Derrick Comedy that I realized why. I LOVED THOSE GUYS! I had no idea DC was from that group. Oh man, what a nostalgia trip that sent me down.

Also seconding highflyer, on an unrelate note – You guys have to get Jackson and Doc on, it would be a nerd comedy explosion.

  13. Leah says:

Holy shit this was one of the funniest episodes ever. I am definitely going out to get Crap Kingdom; if DC Pierson is half as funny in print as he was in this episode I will be SO FUCKING HAPPY.

(Also hello to the quemmenters – I’ve been away for a while. Nice to be back and writing things here again)

  14. Writefast says: Best. Bit. EVER.

  15. Alexabix says:

Carrot Top is better because he’s not openly racist?
He’s just too arrogant and ignorant to see that he’s contributing to racism. Fuck him and his act.

If you have him on the Podcast don’t be a coward Chris, ask him to try and defend his actions.

  16. ben says:

I don’t mean to brag but DC totally raped me!

  17. Notcooluser says:

Loved that kyle was included, something about the extra person to play off of makes me enjoy it more than the one on one episodes.

  18. Jennifer Davies says:

Is it wrong for me to say I remember DC from the Fiber One Commercial 😀

  19. GuanoLad says:

Great podcast. I love “Mystery Team.”

Just to be nerdy, OMC, Otara Millionaire’s Club, was a New Zealand act with Pacific Islander members (Niue). Australian Aborigines are not in any way related to Pacific Islanders.

  20. Ian says:

Sweet moses. By the 22 minute mark, tears were streaming down my face from laughing.

  21. Fin says:

God the AMA part part had me on the floor and the Git i pretty much died

  22. jonny says:

Awesome podcast, definitely gonna check out his half hour on youtube and look into the book!

  23. Michelle says:

Very funny stuff!! For me it had a Hostful feel! Thanks guys!

  24. El Cas says:

This episode had every laughing so much my co-workers starts stare at me funny.

    Great Podcast, thanks Big C.

  25. highflyer says:

In reference to Randy Quaid having Kuato for an attorney: Venture Brothers had a Kuato-esque lawyer in an episode. Speaking of which, Jackson and Doc would make great guests.

  26. anthonyc says:

It’s not Rainbow Bridge. It’s called Graffiti Bridge. Prince fact of the day.

  27. picklemeth says:

“Nyah, you’re taking my dick, see!” Was criminally under appreciated.

  28. Alec says:

Are there any plans for DC’s publisher to put his novels on Google Play Books?

  29. Jon Dees says:

  30. Jake says:

I don’t mean to brag but DC totally rapped about me!

  31. Wildride says:

Zero Tolerance: The natural title for your racist against racists project. Tagline: “He has zero tolerance for intolerance.”

  32. Kevin says:

    Toby Keith in blackface.

  33. Wildride says:

Prince is a rare black leprechaun, and in his version of Lucky Charms they have Cherry Moons, Purple Rain and Rainbow Bridges.

  34. Wildride says:

If you want to get a Quaid report going, you need to talk to comedienne Danielle Stewart for the inside track.

  35. Kyle says:

I love the podcasts with people I’ve never heard of. Now I’m down a DC Pierson rabbit hole, and I just pre ordered his book.

  36. Brian says:

    Great. The Allstate guy.

  37. amysrevenge says:

Bee Tee Dubs, I totally pre-ordered the book at the end of the podcast. Probably Canadian pre-orders won’t count in the right way towards the fame part, but at least it should still count for the fortune part, right?

  38. Three Toes of Fury says:

Woo Hoo! Its a Nerdist two for one sale! Buy one podcast with DC Pierson podcast and get a free copy of 30m of his standup under the “5 Most intentionally Funny videos this week 3/5”. Woot! Woot i say! Im definitely gonna pick up his new book…endorsed by Patton Oswalt & John Hodgman?!? TAKE MY MONEY!!

  39. amysrevenge says:

Bringing the laughs. Well done, dude.
