  1. w goodwin says:

just caught up on about 6 episodes, including the Christina Ricci one. Great interview, but I wish Chris had followed up when Christina mentioned that she reads in her trailer instead of playing video games or whatnot. I would have liked to know what kind of books she reads/what she’s read lately, et cetera. She mentioned reading later in the episode too, but again, no details.

  2. Analise says:

Can’t believe how young she looks at 34! And her street style is super cute

  3. David Morin says:

Turns out she’s as cool as I always imagined her! Great podcast guest, I’d love to hear more from her in that format.

  4. Kelley says:

The speed of this episode sounds like its sped up to me. And the length of the podcast that I downloaded is 1:16:02, whereas the length here says its 1:20:28… is there anyway I can fix it?

  5. PSA says:

Hey, I know this is just a small thing mentioned, but I just wanted to say that birth control pills aren’t bad for everyone. I know there are people who react like Chris’s former girlfriend but there are others (like me) who are perfectly fine, so if anyone was thinking of not taking them because of what Chris said, please consider trying them first. If they don’t work for you, or you prefer a different method, that’s fine. But individual results definitely vary.

Anyway, I really enjoyed everything else about the podcast and love Chris in general so not trying to hate-just to inform.

  6. michelle says:

hubby and i love animals with human names. we know a cat named kevin. but i love that she gave her dog a whole human name, when she said she throws karen carpenter out into the snow, i almost laughed out loud at the ridiculousness of that statement. (tho i felt a little sorry for the poor dog that doesnt know what’s going on.)
and on a professional note, her in the Addams Family movies was an amazing job PERFECT casting. She was fantastic!

  7. Kristin says:

My (black) cat’s name is Wednesday. I loved this interview and her sense of humor. The Possibilities reel needs to be made.

  8. xmozx says:

I’ve been thinking a lot about what Christina said about not listening to the music she loves in front of anyone out of fear that they would ruin it. This has happened to me a lot, if I put something on that I really like and the person in the car with me says that it sucks, then I start questioning why I like it and if it really does suck, and I wont be able to love it the same way.
But you’d think that if you loved something so much to begin with, it wouldn’t matter what anyone says about it.

So this can mean 2 things:

    1. She must have hung out with some really mean/negative people who would insult her music choice, thus scarring her for life.

or 2. She is so insecure that one negative comment would make her question herself and her choices.

I can relate to both 1 and 2, but I’m wondering what her experience is.

  9. Adventureless_Hero says:

Another great insight into what a person is really like. I dig it. Also, we are all just figments of Christina Ricci’s imagination! Nothing is real. lolz That moment reminded me of Bill Hicks “Here’s Tom with the weather” quote.

Points to Christina “The meme generator” Ricci for being cool and not giving a fuck about it.

  10. Zuri says:

    She’s awesome!

  11. Robert Crandall says:

Thanks for bringing her in, I will always love Christina. Casper hit me at a very particular point in my development, and she will always have a special place in my heart. She doesn’t do a lot of cool loose interviews like this. Nice job Chris.

  12. Trav says:

I just love this woman. Period. Thought I would share.

  13. Jen says:

Chris, this is regarding a few episodes ago when you were talking about radio dramas with Richard Madden. I’m a few episodes behind. There are a couple, LA theaterworks on KPFK and Selected Shorts, not sure where that is now. They both used to be on KCRW.

  14. slimchance says:

Are the guys laughing in the background actually laughing or are they sucking on the guests dicks? Either way, could you get Pete Holmes to laugh in the background too?

  15. Melanie L says:

So I used a 5,500 kg elephant, the rate per pound of a package to mail within the US: $5.15, and converted kg to pounds.

My end result was a $62,445.

  16. Oh Wesley! says:

After listening to this I find that my twenty some odd year crush on lil’ Wednesday still remains.

  17. CodyH says:

Really enjoyed this episode. I really do hope that the Actor Reel thing becomes reality because it sounds so amazing on paper.

  18. Alec says:

This may come as a shock, but burnt plant matter also contains chemicals!!

  19. Kathy D says:

Sweet, just saw her on The Late Late Show, now this! Been a fan since The Addams Family movie and have never been disappointed in her performance.

  20. @LJ: Improv is incredible training for pretty much anything. Not just comedy, but any situation that requires to be flexible, think fast, trust yourself and have the confidence of knowing that you can do something that scares the shit out of most people. As far as doing comedy, I only encourage the people who are funny but don’t know it. To some people, they don’t have the perspective to see how funny they actually are so I suggest it.

  21. Timber Ton says:

    @WeeBee Something something penetration anywhere.

  22. Weebee says:

@Jay – That’s probably because the corpse starts smelling too bad by then right?

  23. LJ says:

This is a non-snarky question. I’m just wondering. Why is Chris always so insistent that everyone try comedy and/or improve? Do you think comedy lives in everyone or are you seeing something in each person you’re interviewing that makes you ask that question so often. Certain guests seem pretty insistent that they aren’t in to the idea.

  24. Jay says:

On the dating segment. This is how it works, at least for me. You do it because you normally can’t stand the same person after a certain period of time. For me it’s three days.

  25. ThisGuyRightHere says:

    “Speaking of penises and faces.”

  26. Rusty Balls says:

Oh what a delectable treat it would be to see Ms. Ricci in a Marvel film. Please accept one of these roles if it should be offered to you Chri-Ri :)

I will wait around like the twat I am until this dream should come true. (it does feel good to use the word twat more. Thanks CH, a.k.a The Twatist.)

  27. cassie says:

looks like my wish for more female guests this year is slowly but surely coming true.thanks for this chris.ricci is just lovely.
    cheers and more power indeed.

  28. WetNightmare says:

I’m not sure Justin Bieber’s the best example, nor does he deserve any sympathy at this point. To be honest I don’t even want to spend energy hating him anymore. I just wish he’d vanish already.

  29. Oh man, I loved her in Time Stands Still.

  30. Fartbooty says:

I want CR to recreate the crying scene in The Blair Witch Project in a small crawl space with a Go-Video Cam please!

  31. Cheryl says:

    what an absolute class act

  32. Nikki says:

    Sleepy Hollow!
