Nerdist Podcast: Charlie Hunnam (TWCH)

Make way for the king! This week, former Sons of Anarchy star Charlie Hunnam is headlining Guy Ritchie’s King Arthur: Legend of the Sword. But before movie fans saw Hunnam pull the sword from the stone, he dropped by AMC’s Talking with Chris Hardwick last Sunday night to shoot the breeze with our founder, Chris Hardwick. And in today’s special episode of the Nerdist podcast, you’ll get to hear the extended and uncensored audio from Chris’ interview with Hunnam!

Before Hunnam gave us his Shakespearean biker, Jax Teller on SOA,  he made a name for himself on the original Queer As Folk series in the UK, in addition to starring turns in Undeclared, Nicholas Nickleby, Green Street, and one of our favorite films, Pacific Rim. In this episode, Hunnam told Chris why he felt drawn back to the United Kingdom and how he ended up landing the role of King Arthur during the final season of SOA. Hunnam characterized that as coming full circle in his life, even though Ritchie didn’t initially think that Hunnam was the right choice for it. Let’s just say that it took a bold move on Hunnam’s part to emerge with the part. Hunnam also shared a few stories about growing up in England and the moment that he decided that he wanted to become an actor. Additionally, Hunnam also touched upon the reasons he decided to step away from the leading role in Fifty Shades of Grey.

Make sure to watch Talking with Chris Hardwick Sunday nights at 11pm on AMC or on amc.com/talking! The extended audio will premiere as a podcast here every Friday after a new episode makes its AMC debut.
