  1. Drakeo says:

I loved this episode just like I’ve loved most of the episodes I’ve downloaded thru here

Please keep on doing more of these episodes with Voice Actors

Thanks to the Paulsen/LaMarche episode I’ve become a fan of this podcast and Rob’s Talkin Toons Podcast and also Kevin Smith’s Smodcast (especialy Fat Man on Batman)

Keep up the good work, also you should have Diana Prince (@DianaPrinceXXX) on the podcast

She’s a porn goddess and also a Proud and huge Comic Book/Cartoon Geek

She would be perfect for Nerdist podcast 🙂

  2. Crash says:

There voice actor episodes are so amazing! I need more! More I say!

  3. Luanne says:

This episode was so great! It made me wistful for the days when The Howard Stern Show was actually funny. You know, before he married that god damn golddigger and lost his edge. RIP HSS! 🙁

  4. Luanne says:

This episode was so great! It made me wistful for the days when The Howard Stern Show was actually funny. You know, before he married that goddamn golddigger and lost his edge. RIP HSS! 🙁

  5. Shane says:

Re: the fear of jumping off things. I remember reading some theory about how our fear of heights isn’t a fear of falling but our brain fighting some primitive urge to jump left over from when we were apes in trees.

Now that I type it out it sounds completely insane but I love it because whenever I am near a cliff I get right up to the edge and think “what if”

  6. Patty Marvel says:

FYI, I e-mailed the link of the “I Know That Voice” trailer to my campus film society and recommended we show this. So far, this has been “seconded” and “third-ed” by people who read their campus mail over the summer. Looking forward to the film!

  7. koitus says:

funniest pocast I’ve listened too, and I listen to these things all day. get those two back on when ‘I know that voice’ starts making the rounds… I need a second dose

  8. Toonsmyth says:

That was insane, off the hook, shizzle my dizzle fo rizzle, chock full of AWESOME. Please have them back again soon. Please have more voice actor guests. Maybe the LADIES of FUTURAMA would like a turn, hmm? I’ll bet that Lauren Tom has some saucy stories to tell. She was on Friends, you know. And an episode of Monk. I’m rambling now. Thank you for this amazing episode.

  9. TooTall says:

This episode is 9 hours too short. So so fecking good!

  10. Joshua says:

The only thing wrong with this episode is that it isn’t 3 hours longer.

  11. Josh says:

    Wow. Freaking. Hilarious.

Unbelievable episode, guys! Love those voice guys! The Pinky and The Brain episode is one of my favorites — and now this one is too!

  12. xlcranium says:

I think it was Billy who was about to say something about “Spectrum Analyzing their voice”… but got cut off… any ideas / links to what the story was gonna be??

  13. dreadpiratestead says:

Chris, you are not alone. You probably already caught this on Reddit, but if not, Abe had basically the same fear as you shared…great episode, thanks!!!

  14. omaalex says:

Fan-Freaking-Tastic! Honest to god, this just blows everything else out of the water with regards to pure entertainment value. Keep up the excellent work guys!! I gave up cable TV in large part due to Nerdist. Most of TV is shit. Heh, even though the guest you have on do a lot of TV work. Fuck it, I can pick and choose with the Internet/Hulu/Netflix! Comcast can suck my balls!!

  15. Alex Scouten says:

I’ve heard that no one comments on these things until they hate something. So, to be sure I’m doing it wrong, the Father’s Day episode kind of made me cry. Billy Hardwick sounds like a guy I would want to call Dad and thid one?! All I can say is that beer shot out my nose, “Ya lousy yella’ bastards. You’d fuck your own mother for a nickel”! Thanks for making me belly laugh and hurt like bruised ribs!

  16. Thaddeus says:

they should call those “what if i just did this” anxieties, stay-puft marshmallow men.

  17. Pat T says:

Amazing! The Bill Clinton/Dog bit killed me.

  18. Patty Marvel says:

@Aaron – So it’s called “perverseness?” Glad I’m not the only who has felt that sort of thing. I once had the urge to grab the steering wheel from someone, but then again that may have had something to do with their driving…

  19. Run says:

I adore Billy West and John DiMaggio. They have such an amazing range in their voice acting! So awesome..

  20. JetpackBlues says:

Just like Ep.#187, this was 80 minutes of ear-to-ear smiles.

DiMaggio has such an awesome chocolate voice. If he didn’t do voice acting, I’d swear he was cut out to be in radio broadcasting.

Loved getting to hear Billy come back for a second time. The man has such incredibly great stories.

  21. Jessica says:

One of the best episodes I have heard!!! This whole episode was pure pleasure for my ears!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  22. Patty Marvel says:

SO glad I didn’t listen to this at work! Would’ve had to do a lot of explaining to my co-workers and there’s some stuff I just couldn’t repeat. 😉

This podcasts kinda reminded me of the times Robin Williams would appear on the Tonight Show and Johnny Carson might get one or two questions in and then just sit back and let Williams do his thing. Sometimes the key to a good interview is to know when to stop talking and just listen.

  23. Pat says:

HOLY FUCK THANKS CHRIS!!!!!! i love those guys!!!!! Billy West is gold!!! and DiMaggio is a fucking BAMF!!!!! kinda wish you would’ve talked about Gears, but thats sooo minor of a complaint. this was amazing!!!!! you should get Dee Bradley Baker Chris, or Brendon Small

  24. PBJ Platypus says:

Holy crap, that was the most hilarious thing I’ve heard in ages! Had me falling outta my seat, man, and I lost my breath from laughing so much a few times! That was just beautiful. I was a little sad they didn’t mention John’s work on Adventure Time, but it was still freakin’ hilarious. Awesome stuff, and I can’t wait for that documentary!

  25. Jillian says:

@Chris- I have a theory that people are either jumper or a faller. If you are standing at the edge of something, you will be afraid of falling off or jumping off. I am also a jumper, and I have learned through my small sample size of friends, that about 50% of people are jumpers. So you are not alone at all, my friend.

  26. Could not stop laughing. Billy and John are a Fav. hope they can return together one day.

  27. I got a reply from Chris Hardwick on his website while I was listening to his podcast, working my ass off in the hot sun, AND working through a patch of writer’s block. What did YOU accomplish today? #SarcasticComment #StrokingEgo #UsingHashtagsOutsideOfTwitter

  28. Dan says:

More voice actors please! You should get….ALL GLORY TO THE HYPNOTOAD

  29. DefconDan says:

This episode and the A. Tyler episode, some of the funniest interviews out there! Awesomeballz!

  30. Brad says:

Anything with that immutable Futurama tang clinging to it is worthy of worship! Helluva good get guys. You have a knack for hauling in the really great topical guests that the other guys seem to overlook. A million thank yous’s gentlemen.

  31. Aaron says:

That feeling you have that makes you think you might jump from a building or take a cop’s gun is called “perverseness”. Edgar Allen Poe wrote an awesome essay about it called, “The Imp of the Perverse”, which is also where that metaphor comes from.

  32. Three Toes of Fury says:

Chris…what the [email protected] are you doing replying to talkbacks…you’ve got a big game tonight!!!! You should be greasing up your elbow and loosening up your wrist and giving it some pepper and hey-batta-batta-batta-SWING-batta…and stealing the outfield…and building it so they can come…and pinch hitting..and pinch catching…and who’s on first, i dont know THIRD BASE!!

Peace .n. Take me out to the Nerdgame…

  33. Chris Hardwick says:

@Justin yeah, the damn cd recorder stopped for a second. I noticed it right away and we didn’t lose anything. Sorry!!!

  34. I haven’t listened to the entire show yet, but I did listen to the place around the edit, and there are two possibilities. One is it’s an audio glitch. A couple seconds before, the audio drops out as Chris says “fuck”, so it’s possible that a section of audio accidentally didn’t record or it accidentally got deleted.

Another, more likely possibility is that they were recording at the E building, where they record onto CDs, and the CD just ran out of space, do they had to stop and replace it. (At the beginning of the second chunk, Chris says something along the lines of “We’re good,” which could signify that they were recording again.)

  35. Jordan says:

john played steve ballmer in the pirates of silicon valley – im at the beginning of the podcast, not sure if they talk about it…

  36. Trenton says:

    The actual one was (V) (;,,;) (V) I think.

Also, yeah, what’s with the edit?

  37. rosewater says:

i always leave the first Billy West episode on my ipod for any time i’m feeling low. Now I’m leaving this one on, too. Possibly my favorite episode ever! I was laughing like a lunatic at work the entire time.

  38. Dan Berko says:

    (\/) (°,,,°) (\/)

  39. Bobby J says:

Funniest shit I’ve heard in YEARS! Not since he was on the Stern show have I laughed this hard.

  40. CJ says:

this is an epic way to start the week (now I can howl with laughter around all the shit I endure) – thank you NERDIST Channel 🙂

  41. Paul says:

THANK YOU,THANK YOU,THANK YOU,THANK YOU,THANK YOU!!!! Tears of blanking joy!! Thank you, Chris Hardwick. [SNIFF] Thank.You.

  42. Dan Berko says:

I was listening to the Billy West podcast last week, (probably for the 3rd time)… this is excellently timed.

Chris, Jonah and Matt… rock on. I appreciate all you guys do. 🙂

  43. Aaron says:

Chris, I don’t know if you’ll read this, but I just joined Twitter only to try and score some Walking Dead Escape tix (so congratulations, because even my friends couldn’t convince me to join).

Problem is, I don’t know how to tweet and I’m not sure I did it right. I wrote @nerdist #FACEMEAT. I think that’s how you do it, but how will I know if you’re gonna get me tickets?

Well, whatever. Love the podcast. Will be 2nd row at the Balboa Theater for the live podcast and can’t wait to see who the special guests are gonna be. I’ll be at Comic-Con, too, but only got a badge for Thursday and Sunday, unfortunately, so I’ll miss your panel.

P.S. Can I get drunk with Matt and Jonah when you guys are here?

  44. Joe says:

Absolutely loved this episode. What was with the hard cut just before 1:04:00, though? That was jarring as shit.

  45. Aaron says:

-> What a perfect way to start the week.

    What this guy said.

OMFG, I haven’t even listened yet, but I am so effing excited for this. Coincidentally timed with Futurama’s new episodes on CC? I’m sure they’re doing the PR rounds, but man… I really hope to see these two again at Comic-Con next week. I LOVE YOU GUYS! COME ON THE PODCAST MORE!!

  46. Rogue says:

    Love. Love. Love.

The voice actor episodes just have that extra finesse of almost adding like, 20 more people to your ear holes. Its so entertaining. And having childhood characters saying fucked up things… ooooooh my. Oh me oh my.

And thanks for the heads up for Ren & Stimpy being on Nerdist!

  47. John says:

What a perfect way to start the week.

  48. People were tweeting about this all morning! I can’t wait to listen.

Hey Chris, I know you are busy but it would be beyond delightful and awesome if you were on Rob Paulsen’s Talkin’ Toons podcast. I’ve been addicted to that podcast since Rob and Maurice were on Nerdist!

    Go podcast cross pollination!!!

  49. DarwinsBastard says:

    *reads title*

    *pees a little*

  50. Theodore says:

I literally said ow shit out loud. nice.
