Man, the Nerdist team gives great pod!I was cracking up all over the place.  I know that Big C has a million plates spinning at any given time and can’t be up on all things across the pond, but I was surprised the fact that “Getting On” is a US version of the BBC’s starring Jo Brand (UK comedienne and frequent panel show guest).Of course, remakes/re-imaginings can totally take on a life of their own so it’s all good. Thanks for the continual awesomeness! Chris, when you get back to Seattle, see us at EMP Museum! You’re royalty here and we’ll have a kickin’ Star Wars exhibit in the house!

  2. Levi says:

Aww…missed golden opportunity to have Lois close out the show with her interpretation of “Enjoy your burrito.”

  3. FreshMetal says:

Jeez!  I totally agree with Alex about kids with phones.  Like she said, you take them to school, you pick them up…  There really never isn’t any point where you don’t know where your kid is and need to reach them.  Nothing irritates me more than seeing a young child with an iphone.

Here is a reason why douche is still sold.  It’s all about money.  Like with most items we buy, the seller makes up a problem such that the potential buyer feels guilty if they do not buy the product.  In this case it’s shaming women into believing their natural order is repugnant to potential men.

It’s the same issue with shaving.  Razor manufacturers wanted to sell more razors so they convinced women that they needed to shave.

What a world we live in!

  5. Vinny H. says:

Totally agree! I get annoyed when Chris pontificates on standup and how he everything he does is to funnel people to his standup. Your material sucks ! I couldn’t get through Mandroid. But as a tv/podcast host he is excellent. Funny and keeps it moving beautifully. Give up the standup Chris and just do TV and podcasts and Comic Con panels it’s where you shine.

    • -Di. says:

If it means anything to you, CH cannot get though Mandroid now either.

BTW: Would it surprise you to learn that just because YOU don’t like something, YOU do not get to take it away from everyone else who loves it?  A simple solution would be to not buy tickets to his Funcomfortable tour.

hardwick, douchbag was on-air in the 70s on if you have forgotten…  SNL,

  7. It DOES feel new, Chris! Here’s the thing. I have only been listening for like a year now, and it feels like I know you and Matt and Jonah better than I know some of my best friends. (Very sad thought.) Nerdist fandom seems to happen in phases. First you listen to the ones with the famous people you like the most. Then one of those happens to have Matt and/or Jonah. That’s when you discover the magic of hostfuls! This is where I’m at now. I’ve listened to just the hostfuls chronologically for a while and it’s like watching a video of your family growing up in fast forward. Yes, things have changed. A lot. Nerdist Industries is a huge and many headed beast, but the reason it still works so well is that to the humans at the head of it, it still feels new and exciting. So thank you for that.
Follow up: Do you have moments where it’s not, and you’re jaded and tired of this job and if so, what are those moments like? I think the honesty and transparency are the other things that set Nerdist apart from most other media.

  8. Mark Waters says:

Little disappointed you didn’t have Lois sign off the podcast.

  9. Maria @LaughtAndLived says:

“Mom and dad loves the chiled but gradma wants to cut the fucker open” , that line just made my day.
