  1. Andy "Brack" Brackett says:

    Chris,
If you like Mark Wahlburg you should check out I Heart Huckabees. He plays a totally different character then he normally portrays. Possible one of my most favorite moving pictures to date.

  2. JE Smith says:

Just re-listened to this for the first time in years — funny how everything Matt says about DOCTOR WHO turned out to be wrong. :p

  3. This is really interesting, You’re an overly skilled blogger. I have joined your rss feed and look ahead to searching for more of your wonderful post. Additionally, I have shared your web site in my social networks

  4. Eileen says:

Harold Ramis. Squee! I took his pledge during the Chicago Public Radio pledge drive in 2003. He was quite kind. It was all I could do to type in his info and repeat it back to him while my sister was shaking a quickly-scrawled “Stripes Rules!” poster next to me. At the end of the call I said, “Now I have to ask, are you THE Harold Ramis?” at which point the pledge director started hovering next to my cubicle. As soon as I hung up I shouted “I just talked to Harold Ramis!” and the pledge director said, “Did he say we could thank him on the air?” and I said yes and then they did, but I don’t remember if I really ever asked Harold’s permission.

  5. Anneke says:

A small anecdote about how into this show I am.

After wracking The Neverending Story archives in my brain, I just yelled “Artax!” uncomfortably loudly in a coffeeshop with my headphones on. SO many weird looks.

    WORTH IT.

  6. Chris: Chai latte! YES! Try this next time. It makes my mouth pull a Nintendo 64 kid:

Iced, soy, vanilla chai. The vanilla in the soy AND the vanilla syrup kicks it up a whole ‘nother notch, and makes my tongue cum buckets.

  7. robert says:

omg chris… percy jackson as a novel series was amazing but the movie was the worst film adaptation of a book since gnomeo and juliet. you’re not alone.

ps – guestless is the bestest!

  8. AB says:

    Hey guys –

Loving the guestless podcasts. I’ve never been compelled to leave a comment on the site before, but I wanted to encourage you guys to keep doing these because I enjoy them so much.

  9. DH says:

Thank you so much for consistently producing what is easily one of the 3 best podcasts barnone. I know you thought the guest-less podcast was a gamble, but the truth is you guys are clearly at your best just feeding off each other and discussing things you genuinely find interesting. Nerdculture salutes you all, keep up the great work!

  10. Paige says:

If you guys got Danny Elfman on the podcast, the film score nerd in me will pee with glee. Why?
    1. I think the world should know how much drugs were involved in the scoring of Beetlejuice and the Nightmare Before Christmas. There is NO WAY that crazy stuff was written sober.
    2. I just want him to say on air that Hans Zimmer sucks.

I love the new no guest format.
You guys are such good networkers in getting the material of your friends out in the open and I find that admirable. I have discovered SklarBro Country and Doug Loves Movies from this podcast.

  11. smartbunny says:

Mira; do standup! If you want. Don’t force it. (FORCE IT)

Speaking of Outrageous Food, Rutgers University in NJ has these very famous Grease Trucks. From Wikipedia: “They are known for serving, among other things, “Fat Sandwiches,” a sub roll containing an ensemble of ingredients such as burgers, cheese, chicken fingers, French fries, mozzarella sticks, gyro meat, bacon, etc.”

Also, the lady who is using Nerdist to connect with her kids is in her 40’s? Fantastic. I am 44.

  12. R.D. says:

Did someone say The Vindictives!? As in Hypno-Punko™? Very obscure and Amazing. I’ve been listening since Ep01 and I think this is the first time we got a hint at some of the music one of you listens to besides Weird Al. Great job on your your first gueastless show. Turns out we don’t tune in for just the guests. -Ryan
