Nerdist Podcast #143: JENNY WADE

The delightful and hilarious Jenny Wade teaches the boys about butt candy and how to speak Japanese! This is an episode you’ll want to file the adoption papers for immediately!

Follow @Jenny_Wade on the tweets. It will make your life better, I promise.

  1. Bryan Smith says:

The song is called 「主よ、誰よりも」”Shu yo, dare yori mo” by Reiko Uehara. The song is about the singer’s love for God. Jenny’s version has some errors and a couple of missing lines, but she sings it much sweeter than the original.

  2. DaveStrider says:

What is the name of the japanese love song Jenny Wade sung?

  3. Just listened to this one again for the umpteenth time. Still just as funny the first time I heard it! Jenny and Chris are delightful together, and Jonah’s sheer joy at finding someone else to make fun of Matt with is wonderful to hear! (I know they’re really friends, though; the live show in Boston at the Wilbur Theater was practically a lovefest. I wonder if we’ll ever actually get to hear that one. I hope so.)

Anyway, five stars. Listen to it again and often.

  4. toonsmyth says:

Jenny Wade is as delightful as she is beautiful! I would like to ask her to marry me and grow old with me and spend our lives watching Japanese tv shows.

You missed a geek opportunity (geekatunity?) to mention that Pizzicato 5’s “baby Love Child” was used in an episode of FUTURAMA! It’s the closing montage in the episode where Leela discovers she’s not an alien, but a mutant. Enjoy THAT burrito!

  5. DaveStrider says:

What is the name of that love song jenny sang? it sounds really cool

  6. duncan7 says:

Huge fan of Mellow Mushroom, here. Maybe a tweetup before the Atlanta show?

  7. J says:

This one of the best episodes I’ve heard in ever.

  8. Roger Waters says:

I thought Jenny came off as a bit of a smug cunt.

  9. nico says:

YES!! I’ve been waiting for this episode since I found out she shot it!! It’s the peanut butter and banana of my world!!

  10. Alex From Philly says:

Jenny Wade dispelled the myth that hot blondes are not not funny. Fantastic episode.

  11. Melissa says:

Please, please, please make Jenny Wade a “regular” guest! She was so fantastic with you guys! Love!

  12. Donna says:

Mellow Mushroom is SO tasty! You’re going to be in Boulder in March and I know there’s one in Denver. :)

  13. groovygonzzo says:

out of curiosity looked up “mtv’s singled out”, hilarity ensued!

  14. Julie says:

FABULOUS episode. Ms. Wade is adorable and hilarious. Add in the fact that she randomly burst into song and I think we have perhaps found Chris’ female equivalent?

  15. Chris Sudat says:

More candy and soda names: Tootie Rolls and Caca- Cola.

  16. JE Smith says:

Hey Chris, we’re glad you like the Addison Improv here in lovely Dallas. I saw your show last fall, we want you back! :) Jenny Wade seems pretty cool, and she is awful darn purty.

  17. Josh says:

Would anybody care for some b.m&ms?

  18. Daniel says:

Holy snaps. I had never heard of Jenny Wade before this episode and it feels like a huge loss on my part. Now I have a huge crush on her, but I promise it’s in a non-stalker way. Though I’ll definitely keep an eye out for her…and sweet potato pizza.

  19. Jessica-Star says:

This episode was super-fantastic. I’m with Ryan above: hearing about Chris already anticipating that Ham & Cheese croissant was a great made the story from the Portland stage that much more poignant in retrospect. Sometimes I really love the timeywimey nature of the podcast recording and posting timeline.

Ms. Jenny Wade had to know the snoring was a thing, right? She must’ve listened before? It was so perfect yet unexpected. Matt was a little quieter than usual and I felt bad about the timing since he was just speaking up, but I hope he knows that while we all laughed we love him and I for one am intrigued by this sweet potato-infused delight he was describing.
