It seems that folks who know about From Software‘s Souls series and the challenges that those games have provided folks have already written off the idea of subjecting themselves to the slings and arrows of Bloodborne. The omission of a block button, the rudely difficult boss battles against gargantuan beasts, and the severe lack of checkpoints that set players back for hours of gameplay upon dying–these are factors intimidating enough to have one’s hair falling out just from the mere thought of them.
But even with their reputation for being brutally difficult on players, From Software has found a way to make Bloodborne quite accessible, while still keeping the unrelenting spirit of its predecessors intact. This is just one of several reason I’ll be telling you why Bloodborne is a must-own title on this week’s episode of Nerdist: Play. Don’t like it when games hold your hand? What about when games throw you to the wolves? Find out why Bloodborne is a solid balance in the video above.
