Video game movies are typically trash. There’s no other way to put it. There have been glimmers of hope, like Mortal Kombat and Scott Pilgrim vs. The World, but for the most part, it’s hard to walk out of video game licensed films without feeling unfulfilled. However, the Ratchet and Clank feature film, which is due out this Friday, April 29, aims to break this vicious cycle, and we’ve brought in some very special guests to help us pregame!
This week on Nerdist: Play, James Arnold Taylor and David Kaye (the voices of Ratchet and Clank, respectively) join us to play through the opening portion of the new Ratchet and Clank game. You know—the game that’s based off of the movie that’s based of of the original game? You’re definitely not confused, right? Excellent! Taylor and Kaye discuss everything from their transition into film with Ratchet and Clank, to their favorite moments working on the Ratchet and Clank series over the years.
Are you excited about the Ratchet and Clank movie? What did you think of the game, assuming you’ve already completed it? Blast all of your thoughts into the comments below!
