Courtney Barnett stopped by the AV Club to cover The Breeders’ “Cannonball”. She said that during the first day of recording her new album that she blasted the Breeders in the studio, so presumably this performance is indicative the kind of material Barnett and her band recorded #yussssss
Blake Mills is a country musician who has collaborated with the likes of Jenny Lewis, Jeff Bridges (!), and Julian Casablancas. After releasing his first solo album in 2010, he is preparing to release his follow up, Heigh Ho on September 16. His excellent first single, “Don’t Tell Our Friends About Me” was recorded with his girlfriend, Fiona Apple. He recently stopped by Rolling Stone to explain his favorite methods of playing guitar:
