Today’s Movie Morsels is so jam-packed with awesomeness that I feel guilty wasting your time with an introduction instead of just letting you jump into its sweet, sweet, all-natural goodness. But for those folks (and search engines) who like to know what they’re getting into… We have the almighty Chris Pratt being all big-hearted and hilarious as he gives us a tour of the set of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, the first ever clip (!) from Jon Favreau’s The Jungle Book, the first ever trailer for what looks to be Shane Black’s next big buddy comedy hit The Nice Guys, a pulse-quickening new Hardcore Henry video…and more!
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2
Chris Pratt is a goddamn National Treasure. But unlike most types of treasure, he shows no signs of tarnish. Instead, the once and future Peter Quill is giving us our first tour of the set of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 (in his own inimitable style) while inviting us to be the next Guardian of the Galaxy—in the following charity video for Omaze. Enjoy!
Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Vin Diesel, Bradley Cooper, Michael Rooker, Karen Gillan, Sean Gunn, Glenn Close, Pom Klementieff, Elizabeth Debicki, Chris Sullivan, and Kurt Russell co-star in the May 5, 2017 release.
The Jungle Book
We recently showed you a photo of man-god Idris Elba lounging alongside Shere Khan, the tiger king he voices in Jon Favreau’s live-action adaption of Disney’s animated The Jungle Book (based on the Rudyard Kipling classic). Now, we have the very first clip from the film to arrive online, with the villainous cat revealed in all his wicked glory…
The Nice Guys
Oh, Shane Black, how we’ve missed you. Thankfully, your patented brand of irreverent bromance, last seen in Kiss Kiss Bang Bang and Iron Man 3, looks to be back in full force with The Nice Guys. And it appears you’ve also given Ryan Gosling and Russell Crowe the opportunity to have more fun on screen than should be permissible by law. Here’s the film’s new trailer…
Angourie Rice, Matt Bomer, Margaret Qualley, Keith David, and Kim Basinger are also onhand in this May 20th release, which has just earned a place in my Top 5 Most Anticipated Films of 2016.
Want another trailer? You’ve got another trailer. Mark Wahlberg stars for director Peter Berg in a film based on the real life 2010 Deepwater Horizon explosion that occurred in the Gulf of Mexico, and the disastrous oil spill that resulted. Kurt Russell, John Malkovich, Kate Hudson, Gina Rodriguez, and Dylan O’Brien lend support in the September 30 release.
Finally today, the POV thriller Hardcore Henry is drawing some pretty high praise from critics, as can be seen in the following video spot. But love it or hate it, the film will definitely give us something very different to look at on movie screens when it lands on April 8. Sharlto Copley, Danila Kozlovsky, Haley Bennett, and Tim Roth star in the sci-fi actioner…
