Monday night brought together Dave Hill, Morgan Murphy and Tom Papa. But before they even had a chance to be introduced, it was vitally necessary that Hardwick and the lovable Matt Mira talk about the thing that truly broke the internet over the holiday: Star Wars. #XmasListin3Words brought the show into the holiday spirit, and so much more fun was had.
W. Kamau Bell, Greg Proops, and Tom Rhodes took the podiums and got their swagger back. There was much talk of sports, including some very interesting #StonerSports to learn. American Apparel also came up because, well, some advertising just needs commentary. And Barcroft TV. Yeah. We’re just going to leave that one there.
Wednesday night we talked about brains, robots, and tables with Arden Myrin, Jon Gabrus, and Matt Besser. #SoftenABand allowed for a music lesson. The show also provided some very important communication tutorials for people new to Twitter, and some books were so good in 2014 that they only made the @midnight end of the year list. Oh, and you should totally spend some time running around the abandoned internet sometime because wow.
On Thursday night there was a progression of facial hair between contestants Brent Morin, Chris D’Elia, and Andrew Santino. They learned about some very important children’s books on Amazon, the wonderful tradition of YouTube pastors, and Evil Geniuses. Also, it was Jay Z’s birthday so, of course, #LameJayZBrags were a thing.
If you’re like this writer and have cut the cord on cable, don’t worry! You can always catch @midnight online and on Hulu+ the next morning, and thanks to the joys of social media, you can totally play hashtag wars right alone with the show so long as you’re following @midnight on Twitter. Also make sure you’re following the show on Facebook, Instagram and Tumblr to stay up to date on all the behind the scenes happenings.
