We knew that @midnight was a hit, and that after the latest episode it would go on hiatus while Comedy Central decided how to proceed, but this:
Yes, Deadline.com is reporting that the show has been given a 40-week renewal, with new shows coming starting January 6th. 40 weeks! Deadline’s Nellie Andreeva has numbers:
The renewal is not surprising given how strong the show has done in Comedy Central’s target young and male demos. In Men 18-34, Men 18-24 and persons 18-24, @midnight is the No.3 highest ranked late-night show in all of television — cable or broadcast — only behind Comedy Central’s The Daily Show and Colbert Report through its first three weeks. In adults 18-34, it is No.3 among all cable late-night programs (323,000), and in adults 18-49 it ranks fourth with 453,000. Among total viewers, @midnight averages 624,000. Not surprisingly, given @midnight’s social media focus, it is the most popular late-night show on Twitter by a mile.
There WILL be more @midnight. And… thank YOU. It’s your viewing and support that made this happen.
