With the premieres of Avengers: Age of Ultron, Agent Carter and Ant Man, 2015’s going to be a big year for Marvel across all live action fronts, but one project in particular has me more excited than any other: Daredevil. While the others are much what we’ve come to expect from the company–high octane, big budget fair with new and familiar faces–Daredevil’s going to be the first time Marvel dives into the world of “mature” content and truly goes “dark” with its storytelling. However, we still don’t know exactly when we’ll be laying our heightened senses on the new series, but based on a new tweet from showrunner Steven DeKnight, it probably won’t be much longer now:
Thanks to the cast and crew for an amazing experience directing the season finale of #Daredevil. Goodby, NYC. Peace and love!

Planned as the first installment in a new “Defenders Saga” that will also include Jessica Jones, Luke Cage and Iron First (as well as some majorly rumored but in no way confirmed Punisher inclusion), Daredevil is going boast a lot of changes in tone and style for the MCU. However, considering Drew Goddard wrote and directed the pilot while DeKnight (both Joss Whedon alums) acted as showrunner, we think the hero of Hell’s Kitchen is in good hands.
Like we said, 2015’s going to be a big year for Marvel, and if they manage to pull off everything they have planned, there might truly be no stopping the Hollywood powerhouse in the years to come.
