In just under two weeks, the Force will awaken, and a live-action Star Wars movie will be back in theaters for the first time in ten years. Star Wars: The Force Awakens is also the first Star Wars movie to be released by Disney, and the marketing push for this film may be unprecedented.
At Comic Con Experience Brazil, Disney and Lucasfilm underscored the global promotion by premiering a new behind-the-scenes Star Wars: The Force Awakens video that focuses on the legacy of the franchise.
If you’re looking for spoilers, there aren’t really any to be found in this video. However, you will get to see a few snippets of new footage. And at the very end of the featurette, Mark Hamill makes a brief appearance as himself, saving the reveal of Luke Skywalker in The Force Awakens for a later date.
It’s very easy to relate to John Boyega as he reacts to the life-sized Millennium Falcon set. That’s the beauty of director J.J. Abrams’ desire to use practical sets and special effects instead of relying on CGI. Boyega also outs himself as a huge Star Wars fan when he gets Harrison Ford to sign one of his action figures.
Oscar Isaac also expresses his devotion to the Star Wars franchise, while Daisy Ridley pays tribute to the power and impact that Star Wars has had during the last 38 years.
Star Wars: The Force Awakens will hit theaters with all of the power of a Starkiller Base on Friday, December 18.
