Look! Another Nerdist TV Special Saturday Night On BBC America

What? There’s another Nerdist TV special on BBC America this Saturday night? Already? With Alison Brie and The Big Bang Theory‘s Kunal Nayyar? And Thomas Dolby? And Lily Loveless of Skins and, set to debut on BBC America Saturday, The Fades? Yep, 10:15/9:15c Saturday night. Here’s a taste:

This Nerdist special is tied to the debut of The Fades on BBC America, part of the network’s “Supernatural Saturday.” It’s about a teen named Paul who can see the spirits of people who died but haven’t been allowed into heaven, and who are not pleased with the situation nor the people still alive. Things do not proceed well for anyone, and Paul ends up in the middle of a very bad situation. Here’s the trailer:

This video with writer Jack Thorne, producer Caroline Skinner, and co-stars Iain De Caestecker and Johnny Harris sets up the story:

Oh, and one more note for Doctor Who fans: One of the producers of The Fades is Caroline Skinner, who happens to be the Executive Producer of Doctor Who.

So you should tune in early, watch The Fades at 9/8c on BBC America, then settle in for the latest Nerdist TV special at 10:15/9:15c, also on BBC America. That’s one pretty excellent night of television right there, that is.

Nice show again guys! I really liked the Dolby interview! Pretty interesting guy. Will there be a full podcast with him as the guest?

  2. Jeff G says:

Awesome! I can’t wait! But, alas… I don’t have Direct TV or anything so I have to wait until it comes out on iTunes. But wait! I met these guys last week in DC! I guess that will tide me over…

  3. Three Toes of Fury says:

Thomas Dolby! Nice “get” Chris n Crew! “The Golden Age of Wireless” is an amazing album that stands the test of time. I just picked up his recently released new album….its good but overall pretty mellow..gonna take a few spins to get into. However the standout song is toe-tapping awesome….Toadlickers….for those of you who havent heard it, head over to youtube to catch the hi-larious video Dolby made for it. Partyin Puppets rule!!!!!

    Peace .n. Nerdy Tunes.

  4. Scott Lutz says:

FYI – There’s a big ass country over top you guys called Canuckistan. We need Nerdist TV Specials as well. Make it happen.

…. and that’s one to grow on.

Ohhhh man! The last two, I had tears streaming down my face as I cackled maniacally.. I’m so glad these specials exist. Thanks Nerdist people!

  6. Patti says:

Looks like its gonna be another great show! Too bad I’ll miss it. I have band practice. It better repeat real soon after its initial airing on Saturday.

  7. GuanoLad says:

There should be more heroes named Paul.

    Signed: someone named Paul.

  8. Damocles_74 says:

I was already going to watch “The Fades” It’s right up my geek alley. but another “Nerdist”? F*CKING SOLD, BBC America!

  9. Vincent S says:

Ohh BBC America, even your promos aren’t available outside of America. 😀 Alison Brie on the Nerdcast again. So fucking gorgeous and smart, delightful woman. It’s not like those qualities aren’t present in other woman… I’ll shut up now. And ohh yeah… Kunal. 🙂 he’s great too. I don’t think he’s a nerd, would be great to know what his nerd-ly pursuits are.

I might wait a few months before plunging into the Fades, unless they immediately gather a large-medium fanbase.

  10. Tiffany paxton says:

What? Really? Is it my birthday?

  11. Roger says:

So, does a 10:15 p.m. start time mean the show will run the full 45 minutes? I hope so. I bought the year-end special on Amazon; it was very funny. I just hope the guys don’t have to “dress up” again — looked a bit silly 🙂

  12. Brian E. says:

Yay! I feel spoiled with another special coming so soon. Looks great.
