So many awesome films and T.V. shows to watch, so little time, right? Except, there’s always room for one more, and maybe it’s snarfing up all the good neurons in your brain right now. If you think that may be the case, you’ll want to check out the Legion M Pitch Elevator at Stan Lee’s Los Angeles Comic Con this weekend!
Legion M is the “the world’s first fan-owned entertainment company” consisting of over 3,000 fan owners, and it’s teamed up with Seth Green’s Stoopid Buddy Studios, Alamo Drafthouse Cinemas, and Meltdown Entertainment (among others) in order to “open the gates of Hollywood by giving fans the opportunity to be a part of the content they love.”
The pitch contest is happening today and tomorrow at Stan Lee’s Los Angeles Comic Con, and invites anybody with a brilliant idea for a movie, T.V. series, or virtual reality project to come and pitch to a panel of “industry insiders and executives” on a set designed to look like a literal elevator. (Next stop, FAME! Also, can you hit 12?)
Participants will have two minutes to pitch their ideas, and finalists will be determined by the Legion M collective (staff, shareholders, etc.) According to Legion M, “10 finalists will receive a $250 cash prize and a chance to pitch their idea to a panel of Hollywood agents and executives.” Plus, whoever manages to win the big enchilada (or burrito… or chimichanga), receives $1,500 in cash, and “a development deal with Legion M that guarantees $15,000 o8f their project gets made!”
And if you can’t make it to pitch in person, fret not budding media minds, for you can also pitch online from October 28 – November 28. You’ll still need to record a two-minute pitch in this case however, which should probably look something like the Legion M sample video below:
