LABYRINTH and THE DARK CRYSTAL Ugly Sweaters Are Must-Haves for the Holidays

The holidays are a time to celebrate the joy of the season, family, friends, and the ’80s! These sweaters may be labeled ugly, but that’s only if you look at them without the lens of glorious 1980s nostalgia.

The tongue in cheek trend of wearing ugly holiday sweaters just got even better with the release of officially licensed Jim Henson clothing. Featuring two of Henson’s most beloved fantasy films, these sweaters are a sweet, comfy, homage to The Dark Crystal and Labyrinth.

Jim Henson’s 1982 fantasy adventure film, The Dark Crystal, is already getting a new Netflix series, and now it’s also getting a holiday overlay with not one, but two festive sweaters. The first one features the movie title in the iconic font, with beautiful purple, yellow, and gold embellishments. A second sweater features images of the Healer and the Emperor on front, while a Gelfling riding a Landstrider appears on the back. You won’t even have to ask Aughra where to get these, just order them online.

Labyrinth celebrated its 30th anniversary last year, and the movie that transported people to a maze of creatures, wonders, and glam rock is still as popular as ever. This holiday sweater is a visual wonderland, with layers that feature the “helping” hands that transported Sarah into the dark oubliette, Ludo the sweet rock giant, and of course elements inspired by the glamorous Goblin King: the white owl and Jared’s captivating stare. Sparkly threads are woven into the colors, making you want to dance that Magic Dance. Baby tossing is not recommended while wearing the sweater.

If the first Labyrinth sweater was too subtle, the second one is sure to display your fandom for all to see. The waltz scene is featured on the front while the babe, Toby, is revealed on the back, holding one of the magic crystals.

These epic tributes to Jim Henson’s memorable work are the ideal holiday attire to show off your fandom and celebrate the season. See more details in the gallery below and check out even more ugly holiday sweaters that feature Star Wars, superheroes, and more, on fun.com.
