Kids wearing costumes at conventions is one of the most precious sights on the planet, but you know what makes it even more endearing? When they talk about why they chose to dress as the character they’re cosplaying as and how they made it. YouTube user Patrick (H) Willems shared a video from Comic-Con that features interviewer Kendra Pettis talking to several Younglings about their outfits at the convention. I’m impressed she was able to keep a straight face for as long as she did and not just squee over the amount of adorable on display. I don’t know if I could handle it.
She interviews kids dressed as Rocket Raccoon, Star-Lord, the 11th Doctor, Black Canary, Winter Soldier, and more. Spoiler alert: the kid cosplaying Guardians of the Galaxy’s Rocket Raccoon pretty much steals the show. First of all, the alien has rocketed (ha!) to popularity in recent months, but more than that, the kid is hilarious. When asked why he chose to wear a Rocket Raccoon costume before the Guardians movie was even out, he answers, “Because… my dad knew what he looked like.” Duh.
Watch the below video; it will make your day better and make you feel like finding a child to put in a teeny tiny comic book costume.
I also appreciate that the host wears costumes. She’s dressed as Daenerys Targaryen from Game of Thrones and Gwendolyn from Saga. I imagine that puts the kids more at ease.
Which of these pint-sized costumes is your favorite? Let us know in the comments.
