This weekend at Fantastic Fest, Keanu Reeves‘ latest film, John Wick, premiered to near universal positive reviews from the critics in the audience. The film’s balance of ridiculously impressive fighting, solid acting across the board, and the stoic charm of its lead make John Wick an incredibly fun viewing experience. It was on this post-viewing high that I got to talk to Keanu Reeves, Adrianne Palicki and directors Chad Stahelski & David Leitch about the film.
John Wick‘s combination of grounded-yet-flashy combo of Judo and gunplay gives them a very unique look. We asked the players about their training to choreograph this veritable bullet ballet, what the dynamic cast brought to the table, and how the movie’s intriguing mix of fun and death came into existence.
In addition to all of that John Wick goodness, it struck me that the film sees Speed‘s hero and Speed 2‘s villain acting opposite each other for the first time. This led me to asking Keanu about the potential of him returning to one of my favorite films of all time. What are Keanu’s thoughts on a potential Speed 3? Watch this episode of Nerdist News to find out.
John Wick is in theaters on October 24, 2014.
