DC’s Legends of Tomorrow is primed to take flight early next year. And now, one of the all time great genre directors is slated to helm an episode of the new series.
Joe Dante will direct the eighth episode of DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, which will be written by Sarah Nicole Jones & Cortney Norris. The episode is called “Night of the Hawk,” which certainly implies that Hawkman (Falk Hentschel) and Hawkgirl (Ciara Renée) will be at the center of the story. Legends of Tomorrow executive producer Marc Guggenheim tweeted out the cover page of “Night of the Hawk,” which confirmed Dante’s involvement.

Dante also has extensive experience directing for television, including episodes of Amazing Stories, Masters of Horror, Hawaii Five-0, and Witches of East End.
DC’s Legends of Tomorrow is a spinoff series from The Flash and Arrow that brings together an unlikely team of heroes and villains including the previously mentioned Hawks, the Atom (Brandon Routh), White Canary (Caity Lotz), Captain Cold (Wentworth Miller), Heat Wave (Dominic Purcell), Martin Stein (Victor Garber), and Jax Jackson (Franz Drameh) a.k.a. Firestorm at the behest of time traveler Rip Hunter (Arthur Darvill) in order to prevent Vandal Savage (Casper Crump) from conquering the Earth.
The CW will premiere DC’s Legends of Tomorrow on January 21, 2016. Dante’s episode will likely be broadcast in March.
