You know those times you’ve sat around having a couple drinks with your friends and you’ve started throwing out some movie stars you’d like to see in a film together? Well one of those dream collaborations is actually going to happen, because Jennifer Lawrence and Amy Schumer are co-writing a comedy for which they will play sisters.
Lawrence told a reporter at the New York Times that the two popular stars have started writing a screenplay together and that they are almost done. “I emailed her after I saw Trainwreck and said, ‘I don’t know where to get started. I guess I should just say it: I’m in love with you.’ We started emailing, and then emailing turned to texting,” Lawrence said. Well, now that texting is about 100 pages of script.
Schumer’s star has been on the rise the last few years, as the stand-up comedian has starred in her own, very-funny Comedy Central show, Inside Amy Schumer, and this year’s Trainwreck, a film that she also wrote. While the Oscar-winning J-Law might be best known for her dramatic portrayals in movies like Silver Linings Playbook and as Katniss Everdeen in The Hunger Games series, she has shown that she can make us laugh just as easily as she can lead a revolution.
If you frequent Schumer’s Instagram, this news might not be a total shock, since she posted some vacation photos this summer that just happened to show the Girl on Fire with her.
What other dream pairings can we try to use the power of imagination to magically make happen? Share your best ones in the comments and we’ll see if we can will it to so.
