The fifth Bourne movie finally has a title: Jason Bourne. And after nearly a decade, Bourne is coming back to movie theaters this summer! During Super Bowl 50, Paramount dropped the teaser trailer for Jason Bourne, as the worldwide intelligence network reacted to the first Bourne sighting in years.
At the end of The Bourne Ultimatum, Matt Damon’s Jason Bourne finally had the answers he was looking for after eluding the grasp of his former employers. If the new trailer is any indication, Bourne continues to support himself by fighting in underground matches, as he knocks out a fighter with one punch.
The trailer also offers up a glimpse of Tommy Lee Jones’ CIA director Robert Dewey, and Bourne’s ally from the previous films, Nicky Parsons (Julia Stiles). There’s even a tease for one of the film’s major action sequences on the Las Vegas strip!
It’s not currently known what will draw Jason Bourne back into the international espionage game, but Vincent Cassel is reportedly Bourne’s new nemesis, while Alicia Vikander will be the female lead…even though no details about her character have been officially revealed.
Although the last Bourne film revolved around Jeremy Renner‘s Aaron Cross, he isn’t expected to appear in Jason Bourne. But wouldn’t it be awesome if he made an unannounced cameo?!
Paul Greengrass wrote and directed Jason Bourne, which is scheduled to hit theaters on July 29.
