Absolute terror, vomiting, screaming children… I mean, really, who hasn’t been there on St. Patrick’s Day?
All kidding aside, writer/director Gary Shore’s “St. Patrick’s Day” vision has little to nothing in common with the Irish pride holiday celebrated around the world. His entry in the horror anthology Holidays tells a version of the legend of St. Patrick who is said to have chased all the snakes out of Ireland. Bringing that lore into modern day, Shore wanted to have a little fun and explore the idea of a modern day pagan conspiracy to bring the reptiles back to the land they once ruled in a, well, rather unsavory way. Said Shore of “St. Patrick’s Day,” “Part Wicker Man, part Rosemary’s Baby, ‘St. Patrick’s Day’ is a drama/horror with a twist of the absurd.” Have a look at the exclusive clip starring leading Irish actress Ruth Bradley and newcomer Isolt McCaffrey.
Holidays will have its world premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival on April 14. The film will be available on VOD and digital download April 15, 2016 and in theaters April 22, 2016.
