All Star Celebrity Bowling

It’s Here: Team Doctor Who on “All Star Celebrity Bowling”

And… here it is. You’ve heard about it, and now the episode of Chris Hardwick’s All Star Celebrity Bowling featuring Team Doctor Who — Matt Smith, Karen Gillan, Arthur Darvill, and Steven Moffat — taking on Team Nerdist — Chris Hardwick, Chloe Dykstra, Alex Albrecht, and Wil Wheaton — is ready for your viewing pleasure at the Nerdist Channel. You’ll learn who has the knack of knocking down pins (proper form or not), and you’ll learn who’s the greatest danger to the structural integrity of the lanes (gotta roll that ball, not bounce it). This was taped during San Diego Comic-Con International, and it was a blast. Enjoy.

This special early posting from the upcoming second series of Chris Hardwick’s All Star Celebrity Bowling is also the start of Doctor Who-eekend, our celebration of all things Whovian leading to the debut of the opening episode of Series 7 of Doctor Who on BBC One, BBC America, and Canada’s Space. The special programming includes the new cooking show Dork Fork with special guest Alton Brown helping create some Doctor Who treats (Saturday morning), a special exclusive Q&A hosted by Chris and featuring Matt, Karen, and Executive Producer Caroline Skinner (Saturday night), and Just Cos at Gallifrey One, with Chloe and Matt Mira prowling the convention for the best cosplay (Sunday morning).

In between that all, watch the debut of “Asylum of the Daleks,” the Series 7 opener, on Saturday night: BBC America and Space will have it at 9/8c, while BBC One in the UK will air it at 7:20p.

I have fallen down an internet rabbit hole from which I am afraid there is no escape.  Also, I need a tardis for this comment to be relevant.

  2. John in Ohio says:

That’ll do, Chris. . . that’ll do. Chloe in her “doctor” cosplay and Karen in her bobby costume. . . I’m a happy man.

  3. Rob Logan says:

It’s not often that I actually talk at my TV, but when Karen was bowling I couldn’t help but yell “WHAT??” Her ability is uncanny.

  4. John says:

Chris, that was the best episode ever! I loved every minute of that, its great to see you guys hanging out with the Doctor Who crew. Moffat must write in Matt’s bad bowling into an episode now LOL. This one had everything, Doctor Who, Wil technobabble, Chole Cosplay, and Brits!

Looking forward to when All Star is back all the time!

  5. JetpackBlues says:

    Lanes full of fun!

Loved it when Chloe walked off, after another one of Karen’s strikes, throwing up her hand in disgust as if to say “Whatever!”

It was excellent that Wil wore his Wesley Crushers bowling shirt.

  6. NoHSI says:

Is this stuff strictly aired on the “Nerdist Channel” via ? YouTube or will it also be aired via BBC-A in the near future? We don’t get high speed internet here so video via the net it’s an option.

  7. Three Toes of Fury says:

    Best. Episode. Yet.

WOW!!! ive been waiting for this one for a long time and boy-howdy did it pay off! Freaking hilarious.

    Thanks Chris!

    Peace .n. Tardis Balls

PS: Chris…it just occurred to me…you bowled with not only the amazing Who-crew but also Will Wheaton!?….that, combined with the amazing amount of people you’ve interviewed makes me wonder….{quemment comming in 5…4…..3…..2…..} Chris Hardwick, what remains on your Bucket List?!?!?!?!?!

  8. CXRengel says:

    100% FDA-approved awesome sauce.

I’ve been looking forward to this since Chris Hardwick posted his photo on Instagram. It turned out to be every bit as fun as I expected, and was worth waiting for.

  9. Gene says:

For Chloe’s sake, I hope that she doesn’t hear “THAT’S NOT WHAT KAREN DID!” used in any other context. Poor thing.

  10. ChrisM says:

    Amazing AND Awesome. All smiles.

  11. Cassandra says:

And Chris, snooker is kinda like pool, except a larger table and more rules, but way fun and way hard.

  12. Curtis says:

Karen Gillan is clearly using Scottish magic to do so well. Moffat seems to have forgotten how to use it, though.

That being said, I think that my Friday is pretty much done now and I might as well skip the rest of the day cuz nothing is going to top this.

  13. Marc says:

This is where one posts a comment when they are not overwhelmed by awesome.

Best bowling television since Roy Lown beat Pat Patterson.

No, I did not use Google for that. Honest.

  14. Logan says:

That was a great episode. I never get over how awesome the current cast members of Dr. Who are when it comes to doing stuff for their fans and Nerdist.

Chris I expect to see that Snooker (?) rematch this spring.
