We interrupt your regularly scheduled social media GIFing, internet sifting, and latte sipping to bring you this special announcement: Nerdist is going achievement hunting with our very own Nerdist Xbox app. Aw yeah, baby!
Starting today, you can watch and curate all of your favorite Nerdist programs content conveniently on your Xbox One and Xbox 360 consoles. Now you can catch all of our regularly scheduled greats like Nerdist News, The Dan Cave, Because Science, and Nerdist Presents right from your Xbox console. The app also features classics like All Star Celebrity Bowling, Grammar Slam, and Cops: Skyrim, too. Oh, and did I mention that one show with the super clever, dashingly handsome, and highly charismatic black dude, Nerdist: Play? Yeah, you can find that incredibly attractive gentleman on our Xbox app as well.
Here’s another fun fact: you can catch archived versions of the Nerdist Podcast on the app as well. That means you can fire up your Xbox console and let the sultry voices of Chris Hardwick, Matt Mira, and Jonah Ray play directly through your home entertainment system. How smexy is that?
Last but not least, is one of my favorite parts about the app: the achievements! What would anything that exists on Xbox consoles be without ’em? We have a slew of Xbox achievements available so players can be rewarded for using the Nerdist app and get their gamerscore up while enjoying some fresh Nerdist content. Don’t you want to hear the blissful “bloop” of the Xbox achievement sound all up in your eardrums? You know, that heavenly slice of sonic goodness that makes loins quiver, keeps folks awake into the wee hours of the morning, and has them tossing and turning in anticipation of the time that they will once again hear that sound come blaring through their television? Let me give you a taste of it to refresh your memory:
Ah, yes. I’d let Mike Tyson whisper that in my ear. Well, maybe. But you know what I am sure about? I’m sure you need to download this app on your Xbox as fast as humanly possible. Don’t be shy, folks. It’s free!
Now, before I go, I leave you with a sneak peek at some of the Xbox achievements you’ll be able to earn by checking out Nerdist content with the app:
