INSANE Chilean Bike Race POV

I had to look away a couple of times. Had this person gone toppling over the bars we could have make him temporarily famous on Web Soup.

Note the cameo by Li’l Perro, a personality I made up for the dog who almost gets biked in half midway through, but hops out of the way just in time.

It’s in point of fact a nice and useful piece of info. I’m glad that you shared this helpful information with us.
Please stay us informed like this. Thank you for sharing.

  2. Sofia says:

OMG!!!! This is crazyyyyyy!!!! I would probably DIE in like 5 seconds if I tried that!
Specially with my bike (a beach cruiser) haha it’s extremely pretty but it would probably die with me if we tried that! :S

But this is awesome :) haha

  3. Jeff says:

First off, OH MY FREAKING GOD!!!!
Second, at what point do you start questioning the integrity of your front wheel? For me, at some point in the middle of the jump after the Never-Ending-Stairway-of-Death sequence would be when that question would pop up. And to up the Nerd Factor…doppler shift anyone?!

  4. johnny says:

i bet this is one of the chilean miners trying to one up the other miner who ran a marathon.

  5. dan says:

is he wearing david tennants suit?

  6. the2scoops says:

Ahem. That was insane. It was like watching parkour with a bike.

  7. Zack Luye says:

This is legit one of the best things I have ever seen. Thanks for sharing, Chris. Nice meeting you guys in Austin.

  8. Ian says:

If you guys liked this maybe check out my Dirt Bike + Skiing mashup I shot with the Gopro HD. Lots of good crashes and Mt. Dew chugging type action!

  9. robgonzo says:

I had seen this before but had not watched to the end nor noticed the pinstripes on the sleeves. Had Paul F. Tompkins not mentioned the suit I would not have known.
I can’t hear the question posed to him but when he’s signing the clapperboard I think he answers, “Yes, I’m going to a wedding.”

  10. enterpriser2151 says:

What does one get for winning the race? Being allowed NOT to run the next year and a loaf of stale bread?! SHEESH! If that was in Uhmeericuh, the PoPo would have shut that down in a heartbeat. I loved the giant concrete sewer pipe on the outside of the protective barrier ribbon. Do you get extra points or disqualified if you drive through it?

  11. BrownFedora says:

It’s like a nightmare version of the old NES game Paperboy.

    @Swhitmore & @TheGeek – yup, I found a pic of him here

  12. TheGeek says:

@Swhitmore your right. He may not have had the best time in the race but he was the best dressed. In full suit an tie, good thing his slacks did get caught in the chain.

  13. Erica says:

Oh man that was seriously frightening to watch. I gasped out loud several times.

  14. help says:

that’s how you get out of a mine

  15. Titus says:

Ooof, that made ridiculously nauseous but was fun to watch.

  16. Here is the VCA 2011 Race video –
Still just as “eye popping” + some alt. camera views (^_^)

  17. Caroline says:

That’s crazy! I couldn’t do like 90% of the stuff he was doing.

  18. Jess says:

I thought it would be a great idea to watch that full-sized on my big ‘ol monitor…. and then 10 minutes later my tummy was still feeling a little rum-tumbly. Oof.

    Ten cuidado, Perrito!!

  19. Marie says:

As I was watching, I kept thinking “Sweet! I could totally do that. Oh… well, except for that… and, oh, okay, maybe that too…” All right, fine, except for three… okay, four… of those jumps, I could manage that. :~) EXTREME!

  20. Matthew Burnside says:

Big day for the supplier of green and red tape.

Also, I think the official name of this race is “The Tour de Slums.”

  21. Kristen says:

Talk about Xtreme! Love this vid.
Can you imagine the bikers who overshoot…into the crowd?

  22. Swhitmore says:

did that guy do that in a pin stripe suit?? if you notice at the end when hes signing autographs, im pretty sure he is.. now that’s classy lol.. and id totally watch the tour de france if the stages were like this haha

  23. Amanda says:

I kept tilting my head up, as if I had any control over the camera angle. So insane!

  24. Bea says:

“aaahhhhh!!!” was all i can say throughout the whole video. awesome!!
