Here’s How to Watch Chris Hardwick’s FUNCOMFORTABLE Stand-Up Special

Here’s How to Watch Chris Hardwick’s FUNCOMFORTABLE Stand-Up Special

The German language is full of words that perfectly describe an otherwise ineffable feeling. Case in point: Backpfeifengesicht, a noun referring to a face that demands to be punched, or kummerspeck, a noun referring to the excess weight gained from emotional overeating, which literally translates to “grief bacon.” Comparatively, the English language is bereft of such useful portmanteaus, which is why I’m grateful that Chris Hardwick has stepped up to the plate with his latest stand-up comedy special, Funcomfortable, which airs this Saturday, April 30 at 10PM ET/PT on Comedy Central.

Just let that word roll around in your mouth for a moment. It describes that perfect blend of things that simultaneously make us laugh and make us squirm on a cellular level. It’s a delicate tightrope to walk, and one that Hardwick expertly toes in his new special. With “the energy of SpongeBob dipped in cocaine water,” Hardwick covers a wealth of ground, including how he first discovered where babies come from, how uniquely terrible music was in the ’90s, and how inappropriate humor helped him cope with the loss of his father. It’s raw, it’s honest, it’s deeply funny, and you can watch it on Saturday night at 10PM ET/PT. You can also watch the uncensored version at midnight on Sunday, May 1 at 11PM ET/PT.

But you don’t have to wait long to kick off the Chris-filled fun(comfort). From tonight at midnight through Sunday, May 1, Comedy Central is kicking off Chris Hardwick’s Funcomfortable Weekend, an entire weekend full of hand-picked content curated by Hardwick himself. It will also feature special interstitials hosted by Hardwick to give you the skinny on exactly what you’ll be watching and why.

Chris Hardwick: Funcomfortable will be made available on the Comedy Central’s website and the Comedy Central app beginning on Sunday, May 1. The extended and uncensored version will be available for download on CC: Stand-Up Direct, iTunes, Amazon Video, Microsoft Movies & TV, Vudu, Verizon Multi-Screen, Google Play and Sony Entertainment Network on Tuesday, May 3.

The digital album will also be released by Comedy Central Records on that date to iTunes, Amazon MP3, Google Play, and all streaming and satellite services such as Spotify and SiriusXM. But why wait — you can pre-order the album right now to make sure it’s ready and waiting for you come Tuesday. And because we love you, an uncensored audio version of the Funcomfortable TV special will be made available absolutely FREE for a week on the Nerdist Podcast beginning on Tuesday, May 3. If you like what you hear, you may buy the deluxe version, which runs an hour and fifteen minutes and includes and includes a bonus Q&A.

And if the anticipation is literally killing you, take a 360-degree preview of the Funcomfortable right now:

So there you have it, friends — plenty of ways for your to enjoy your burrito while Chris Hardwick makes it funcomfortable for all parties involved.
