We all know the feeling: a character in a movie starts chowing down. The popcorn—despite its correct butter-to-corn ratio—is not enough to stave the pain of going without a full meal prior to showtime. Suddenly: the thing being enjoyed on-screen looks like the greatest, tastiest, most enjoyable meal you’ve ever seen in your life. You were enjoying the movie, you were enjoying the scene, but now all you care about is somehow finding a way to get that exact meal from the film into your stomach. It just looks so damn good you must have it.
After watching this super cut of characters on screen eating, you’ll probably be grossed out enough to never worry about that ever happening to you at the movies again.
Made by the folks at World Wide Interweb, this montage of movie characters hitting from throughout the history of cinema is set to Weird Al Yankovic’s Michael Jackson parody, “Eat It” because of course it is—was there any other option here? Really?
Things that I learned from this montage:
- A lot of people eat burgers in films. Even in the midst of watching people bite the heads off of fishes and generally gross eating displays, I will always crave a burger if I see someone eat one.
- Ice cream is a very popular cinematic dining option, but everyone eats it weird.
- People in movies open their mouths much wider to bite something than anyone in real life does. If your spouse ate that way you’d have to eat in separate rooms or go your separate ways.
What other Weird Al song would make for the perfect background to a movie montage? Give us your best ideas in the comments and maybe the internet will make it happen for us.
