“The wizarding world you thought you knew is much larger than you imagined.”
And this week we’re going to find out A LOT more about the expansive world of magic, with four installments in a new series written by J.K. Rowling herself, titled “History of Magic in North America.”
In this teaser trailer for the series, which will begin posting on Pottermore tomorrow morning (9AM EST) and running every day for the rest of the week, we get an idea of the stories that will help explore the world and history of American magic.
“Look beyond the surface and you will find another world running parallel to our own.”
The four installments will tell the story of Ilvermorny—the U.S. Hogwarts—the Native American legend of Skin-walkers, the importance of the Salem Witch Trials, and include a look at the American equivalent of the Ministry of Congress, the Magical Congress of the United States.
Okay fellow Harry Potter fans, this is unquestionably one of the coolest new pieces of the expanded universe to come our way. We already got an idea of how much larger the magical world really is when Rowling named some of the other schools around the globe, but if this video is any indication of what’s to come we are just getting started.
Heck, this year we are getting a new movie, a new play, and a whole bunch of new stories. Did they start putting Felix Felicis in the water or something?
