Remember that time Harry, Hermione, and Ron were sipping on butterbeer at Hogsmeade and Luna barged in wearing a wedding dress? Or when Neville said “Could this school BE any crazier?” right before he fainted again? Or when Harry and Cho “were on a break”? Ah the memories… What? I’m mixing up Harry Potter with Friends? Well, you can’t blame me, thanks to this mash-up video by Jeremiah Rivera.
Jeremiah takes the six “junior members” of the Order of the Phoenix and edits them seamlessly into the classic Friends intro. Harry, Hermione, Ron, Neville, Luna, and Ginny are all represented, each character seen growing through the years from Sorcerer’s Stone to Deathly Hallows. He made sure the scenes he used from the movies fit the sitcom mentality. I can’t really hum along to The Rembrandts while watching Ron hover over his brother’s body. Man, that last movie/book took some dark turns.
In true mash-up fashion, he even added clips from the films to match the TV show; the kissing montage and the group hug were all represented. That leaves me with a bone to pick: The first two movies, it seemed that almost half the time they were in the dining hall divvying out house points. There has to be at least 74,000 (my math may be off) scenes of everyone clapping that could have been used for the beginning part of the song. But that may be me projecting a little, as it was always a pet peeve of mine when Friends changed its intro and took that part away. Other than that, excellent job.
