There’s no way to bury the lead this week. The first place you can catch our fearless leader this week is on tonight’s episode of Talking Dead. To say it’s kind of a big deal is an understatement. The fifth season of everyone’s favorite zombie show (yes, yes I know they’re called walkers) will conclude with an epic 90 minute season finale and be immediately followed by a new Talking Dead. Guests for the week include Scott Gimple, Norman Reedus and Melissa McBride. There will also be a surprise cast member joining these three.
That does NOT mean someone is going to die. It doesn’t! I’m convinced! You can’t tell me otherwise. I’ll just be over here sobbing quietly in the corner until I know for sure everybody lives.
Once you’ve moved on from The Walking Dead and Talking Dead, please take a moment to appreciate the wonderousness that is Chris Hardwick when it comes to standing up for truth on the internet. From talking internet trolls to Hollywood’s elite at the Emmys to standing up for humans who want the right to post pictures that include nipples on Instagram, he has stood up for honesty and truth on the internet. It happened again this week on @midnight, Chris knows the correct pronunciation of GIF. IT IS NOT A SOFT G. The pronunciation is GIF with a hard G. It stands for graphic. Let’s just be done with this now. Needless to say, this awesomeness made it to the front page of Reddit today, and this particular writer is super proud.
The week will be a bit quiet. @midnight will be on hiatus so you can look forward to brand new episodes coming up next week, April 6th. And Chris’s Funcomfortable Tour will be back in rotation on April 10th (Minneapolis and the late show still has tickets!).
You will be able to listen to three new episodes of the Nerdist Podcast this week! The lovely Grace Helbig will sit down with Chris to talk internet celebrity, her exciting new show for E! Entertainment, and all the jobs that got her to where she is now. Kristen Schaal will also be sitting down to talk late night talk shows, her ability to ride a bike and Flight of the Concords. And the week will wrap up with Ben Gibbard joining the podcast to talk about Death Cab for Cutie‘s new album and his different approaches to writing for different bands.
