Don’t worry. We’ll get to all the normal places you can find our fearless leader in the next week, but first! The time is nigh, nerdy friends! Valentine’s Day is around the corner, and with it the return of The Walking Dead and Chris Hardwick‘s Talking Dead right after. If you’re a fan, make sure you’re sending your questions in per the show’s request and it might get asked on the show!
Okay, back to normal programming now. This will be a fun week on the Nerdist Podcast as we’re getting our very first Hostful podcast of the year. The dream team is back and everyone is happy again. Some of the things up for discussion this week include their busy schedules, Dave Matthews, smoked meat, and Spaceballs. Because why not Spaceballs? It’s a great movie!
Today is the @Nerdist Podcast 6th anniversary. I started it with @mattmira & @jonahray on Feb 7, 2010 (also Super Bowl Sunday, because I don’t care about football). Back then, I had been frustrated with the mercurial and wildly unpredictable nature of the entertainment business, which at the time was very clear that it didn’t have much interest in my working in it–so I started a thing. I followed something I was passionate about merely because it was fun and I wasn’t doing it to make anybody else happy. Now 6 years later it has not only been a foundational cornerstone of Nerdist content, it has allowed us to trick some of the most amazing people in the world into having hour long conversations with us. It also got me closer to my dad, taught me more about myself and how to be a more effective human, helped me process good and bad times, and gave me two of my best friends Matt & Jonah. If you take away only one thing from any of it, let it be that you should stop putting off the ting you want to do and JUST. FUCKING. START IT. I swear with some consistency it will change your life. THANK YOU SO MUCH to any of you who have listened even one time. Another huge thanks to our producer @kt_money for putting up with us and our personal walk around Muppet @kyleclarkisrad for being the best one man-note-taking audience and keeper of knowledge obscura. We continue to enjoy the fuck out of this burrito!!! #Nerdist6 [weird forced perspective pic where I look like a hobbit regrammed from @jonahray]
Also make sure you tune into see four new episodes of @midnight starting tomorrow night. You can catch Nikki Glaser, Kevin Nealon, and Jim Jefferies on Monday night. Tuesday night will have a surprise guest teaming up with Carmen Lynch and Brendon Walsh. Wednesday night, Adam Cayton-Holland, Ben Roy, and Andrew Orvedahl. The week will wrap up with some of my favorites taking the podiums. Brian Posehn, Kevin Smith, and Matt Mira will be the guests.
As always, make sure you’re tuning into Chris’s shenanigans on Twitter, Tumblr, Instagram and Snapchat between appearances and television shows. He does funny things with these platforms. Seriously go follow him on Snapchat. His art skills just get better and better each week.
