GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY, VOL. 2 Weird Trailer Enlists Emo Spider-Man, Space Pants, and More

There are a few things we can expect whenever a big new movie trailer gets release. First, the nonsense teaser that comes out the day before the full, real trailer, mostly to annoy the entire world. Then the trailer gets released and the internet collectively pours over every frame to figure out what’s in store for audiences. And after that dies down we get the real treat: the Aldo Jones “Weird Trailer” treatment.

His latest takes aim at the upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy, Vol. 2 set to be released in May of 2017. And while there’s enough in the actual trailer to keep us entertained until then, Jones packs in a whole bunch of awesome nonsense that we sort of wish would show up in the actual film.

With all the things Jones crams into his weird trailers, it’s hard to pick a favorite, or even catch them all the first time around. However, the one thing we particularly noticed in this one is how well cutting in footage Peter Dinklage’s “Space Pants” Saturday Night Live sketch seems to actually work in the world of the Guardians of the Galaxy. (Is there a way to demand a Space Pants cameo in the actual movie? Like, performing at a Nova Corps mixer?)

Kidding aside, the weird trailer does bring up something that is probably a real possibility in that universe. Yondu’s arrow is one of the most brutally powerful weapons we’ve seen in the MCU, but not much is known about how it’s controlled beyond whistling. What happens if he’s having an off day? Does he always stay away from dry foods? Can you take him out with a saltine cracker?
