One of the very best things about being a fan of Game of Thrones is knowing that once a season, you’ll get Blu-ray a commentary of an episode by Maisie Williams and Sophie Turner. It’s honestly some of the funniest minutes spent watching one of the heaviest shows on TV. Both of them are just so genuine and funny together, and if you follow either of them on social media, you know they’re that way separately as well. This, and the fact that she’s a hands-down brilliant actor, made Williams getting cast in two episodes of Doctor Who even more exciting.
And not only was she utterly brilliant on this week’s episode, “The Girl Who Died,” but she was given the opportunity to document her work on the show with a series of on-set video diaries where you get to see some behind-the-scenes footage of the show being rehearsed and performed. Is it a delight? Well if the above video, which has Maisie showing off Peter Capaldi’s rehearsal skills, doesn’t do it for you, then maybe this one below, where she interviews the performers inside the Mire suits, will.
What? Still you’d like more? How about Maisie talking to the Doctor himself about his new found “skills” with a yo-yo, and his showing off his Tom Baker impersonation?
Clearly making the episode was fun, and I for one am very excited to have Maisie back for next week’s episode, “The Woman Who Lived,” where we see Ashildr being considerably different than she was in Viking times.
If Maisie Williams wanted to come back once or twice a series, I think we’d be pretty okay with that. How about you? Let us know in the comments below!
