Guess what day it is? That’s right, hump day! Though it’s been a relatively quiet 90 degree LA winter Wednesday (at least on the gaming news front), we still have a few items on the agenda to discuss. In today’s Gaming Daily: XCOM 2 Double vinyl LP incoming, check out our review of Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 4, YouTuber Tom Cassell “Syndicate” will be hosting the second season of Legends of Gaming, and Rocket League is headed to Xbox One next week.
XCOM 2 Double vinyl LP incoming
XCOM 2 recently launched to some pretty positive marks from critics and players alike. One of the best aspects of the game is of course the epic score. The folks at iam8bit, 2K, and Firaxis are collaborating on a vinyl release of the XCOM 2 soundtrack, which includes the vinyl version of the first game’s score. You can pre-order the soundtrack bundle right now–it’ll only set you back $35.
XCOM fans will also enjoy sweet art on both of the soundtracks. The albums are pressed on 180-gram heavyweight vinyl so that it’s less prone to warping. This package will also include a digital version of the soundtrack. It’s a sweet way to enjoy the fantastic soundtracks, featuring composers Michael McCann, Roland Rizzo, and Tim Wynn.
Game Review: Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 4
Our review of Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 4 is live and I’m happy to report that it’s a great game. CyberConnect2 has mastered the anime 3D battle arena genre by focusing on crisp and elegant cut-scenes that look like they’re straight from the anime, and a combat system that’s easy to grasp. This latest installment includes all of the great mechanics from past Ultimate Ninja Storm titles, and adds extra touches like dynamic stages, breakable armor, and the largest cast of ninjas yet. It’s an impressive title that Naruto fans won’t want to miss. Read the full review here.
YouTuber Tom Cassell, aka Syndicate, will be hosting the second season of Legends of Gaming
Endemol Beyond USA’s eSports series, Legends of Gaming, is coming back for a second season with YouTuber, Syndicate (Tom Cassell), as the host. This season will have four teams of eSport and YouTube stars duking it out for the Legends of Gaming trophy.
The new season will include 24 new episodes featuring 24 different games. There’s still no news on who will be filling out the teams, but with the eSport scene growing rapidly every day, there’s plenty of potential talent that could fill out the roster.
Blizzard considering giving away World of Warcraft to Warcraft movie-goers.
An email from Blizzard suggests that the company is considering giving away World of Warcraft, including all of its expansions (minus Legion) to those that purchase a movie ticket to the video game-to-film adaptation, Warcraft. The nice little bundle, dubbed World of Warcraft: Ultimate Movie Edition, will also give players a month free of play time and a special in-game item. It hasn’t been officially announced yet, but I suspect this will come to fruition way before the June 10 film debut. This is a rad incentive to get those still on the fence about watching this movie to go out and buy a ticket.
Rocket League is coming to Xbox One next week.
Those Xbox owners who have been anxiously waiting for the game people are describing as “FIFA with cars,” is rolling out next week. Psyonix has announced that Rocket League will be launching on Xbox One on February 17–which is only a week away.
Unfortunately, it won’t be a Games with Gold free title like many had previously predicted, which means you’ll have to shell out $19.99 to nab a copy. However, all of the DLC that has been released previously will be included with the game on the Xbox One. That includes:
- “Supersonic Fury” – Two Premium Battle-Cars, 12 Decals, 5 Paint types, 2 Rocket Trails, 2 Wheels
- “Revenge of the Battle-Cars” – Two Premium Battle-Cars, 12 Decals, 3 Paint types, 2 Rocket Trails, 2 Wheels, 4 Toppers, 2 Antennas
- “Chaos Run” – Two Premium Battle-Cars, 12 Decals, 2 Wheels, 2 Rocket Trails, 3 Toppers, 3 Antennas
Other Xbox exclusive content like the Gears of War Armadillo and Halo Warthog variants will also be gifted to those that purchase the game. It’s a nice package that will provide countless hours of fun for a fair price.
