It’s Friday, everybody! It also just so happens to be a three day holiday weekend as well for those living in the United States. As you can imagine, that doesn’t help the summertime gaming news drought we’re already struggling to survive. Thankfully for you, we’re here to keep you informed and up to date on all things video game related. In today’s Gaming Daily, the Shenmue 3 Kickstarter Adds Physical PS4 copy, J.J. Abrams says Uncharted 2’s intro is the “best he’s ever seen”, and impressive Unreal Engine 4 screenshots and a video hit the web.
Physical PS4 copy of Shenmue 3 added as reward for Kickstarter backers
If you’ve pledged at least $60 to the Shenmue 3 Kickstarter, you’ll be happy to hear that you’ll be rewarded with a physical PS4 copy of the game once it becomes available. It will come as part of the “Special Backer Edition”.
Once the Kickstarter finishes, users will be sent a survey allowing them to choose whether they prefer the PS4 physical copy, PS4 digital copy, Windows PC physical copy, or Windows PC digital copy. They also note that people who originally pledged towards the PC physical copy will not need to adjust their rewards if they prefer the PS4 version instead.
According to the Kickstarter page, this is one of the most requested items on the list. So, if you are a PlayStation 4 owner and are looking forward to the game, this is the reward to have to commemorate the occasion.
According to J.J. Abrams Uncharted 2’s intro is the “best he’s ever seen”
Well, it appears Nolan North (voice of Nathan Drake) is at it again! During an interview for the latest issue of OPM UK, the famed voice actor revealed that one of the reasons J.J. Abrams hired him for his small role in Star Trek: Into Darkness was because he liked his performance in Uncharted 2.
“We talked about Uncharted. It was the reason he put me in Star Trek Into Darkness—a little part (USS Vengeance bridge officer) just for fun—and he said the opening of Uncharted 2was the best opening of a game, television show or movie he’s ever seen.”
Do you agree with Mr. Abrams? I personally enjoyed the intro to The Last of Us. If there’s one thing that’s apparent here, its that Naughty Dog is great at creating opening cinematics that keep you hooked and wanting more.
These Unreal Engine 4 Screenshots are unbelievable.
Remember the creepy Unreal engine Mario video we posted earlier this week? If you thought that was insane, wait until you get a load of the video above featuring screenshots done on the Unreal Engine 4. The impressive video and images come courtesy of Unreal Engine Forum user Koola. It’s amazing to see the realistic images users are able to cook up in engine. The best part is the video showcases the engine running in real-time.
