Assassin’s Creed: Syndicate was the talk of the gaming world for most of this fine Tuesday, but now it’s time for us to move on to a few other sweet video game tidbits. In today’s Gaming Daily: Breaking Bad gets recreated in GTA V,The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt gets review scores, and The Division won’t see the light of day until early 2016.
Breaking Bad is all up in yo’ GTA V
While a lot of players have been enjoying the wonders of various GTA V mods, folks like youtube user LioN KoLLA have been utilizing GTA V‘s Rockstar editor for theatrical purposes. This fine lad decided to pay tribute to Breaking Bad by recreating some of the series’ most memorable scenes in the game. Die hard fans of the series will surely see the striking resemblance and attention to detail, down to the amount of hair on Walter White’s head.
The only thing that could’ve made this trailer any better would’ve been Rockstar announcing that it was an actual upcoming DLC at the end. Seriously, Rockstar, find a way to make GTA V: Heisenberg Edition an actual thing. I’m sure Vince Gilligan would play ball. I’d even set it up for you guys! Let’s make some money!
So The Witcher 3… looks pretty damn good.
You saw Conan O’Brien fanning out over it in his latest edition of Clueless Gamer and even read Edwin’s thoughts on epic bits from it (#UnicornSex). Now, it’s time for the rest of the internet to weigh in on Geralt’s final adventure. By the rest of the internet, I mean the esteemed game critics of the nerd-verse. We, unfortunately, were unable to review this game due to technical limitations (lack of dev units), but we have compiled the reviews from a batch of other respectable outlets just to give you an idea of what to expect from The Witcher 3 when it hits stores next week:
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is set to launch in approximately seven days, hitting the PS4, Xbox One, and PC on May 19, 2015.
The Division won’t be releasing until 2016.
If you’ve been hanging with your last ounce of strength waiting for the release of Ubisoft Massive’s upcoming persistent shooter The Division, prepare to fall! Okay– perhaps not the most positive way to put that. Either way, Ubisoft’s earning report confirmed today that the game will be releasing sometime in the fourth quarter of the company’s fiscal year, which just so happens to end in March of 2016. This is actually a pretty sweet spot for a game release, taking place after the holidays and during tax return season. Make that sweet cash money Ubi!
But it feels like The Division has been a quiet warrior in the battle for best next-gen shooter these days. You could blame that on Ubisoft focusing its efforts on releasing Rainbow Six Siege as this year’s Tom Clancy title to play, or on the fact that there’s just not much else to learn about the game as the developers are still climbing the mountain of bringing such an ambitious idea to life. I’m pretty sure we’ll be getting a lot more details on The Division come E3 time, and the fact that Ubisoft Massive is taking their time on this as opposed to rushing out an under-developed project only makes me more excited for what’s to come with this. Take it nice and slow, Ubisoft. That’s just how we like it!
That about wraps it for Tuesday’s Gaming Daily. Always keep it parked here on Nerdist for all of the juicy video game developments, and to chat about our beloved medium, I’m only one tweet away: @Malik4play.
