Good news, you adorkable nerds, Fox has confirmed renewals for comedies New Girl, Brooklyn Nine-Nine and The Mindy Project, as well as for drama, The Following. These shows can be added to the already confirmed renewals of Sleepy Hollow and Glee, and according to Fox, there will be more renewals announced at some point in the future, so don’t start worrying just yet about other favorites like Enlisted (but seriously, start watching Enlisted, you guys. Do it.).
“These shows are some of the best and acclaimed series on television, with influential, culture-driving stars, and some of the best, most creative talent behind the camera,” said Kevin Reilly and Joe Earley. “All four are core assets within our 2014-15 portfolio of content, and we’re really happy to bring them back to our FOX fans for another season.”
This is all very good news, especially for the comedies. Brooklyn Nine-Nine is creatively the breakout comedic hit of the season, and New Girl and Mindy Project are both in top form, especially New Girl, which has really taken its characters to new heights this season with the breakdown and rebuilding of the loft gang.
With all of these renewals, it’s really nice to see Fox showing some respect to fans who just want to know their favorite shows are safe for another year. Good on them.
