FORCE GREY Episode 5: Waking Brian Posehn

Prepare, adventurers. for the latest episode of Force Grey: Giant Hunters has arrived! Through the first four episodes, Critical Role‘s Matt Mercer has served as the Dungeon Master for a campaign through Wizards of the Coast’s newest Dungeons & Dragons adventure, Storm King’s Thunder. But if you think Matt’s gonna take it easy on his fellow geeks and gamers, then you’re stone cold wrong!

In this week’s installment, the group finds themselves in the apparently abandoned lair of a mystic and completely unaware of the potential dangers around them. Perhaps they’re too distracted by the presence of Calliope, a half-elf who really doesn’t have a good reason to like or trust these strangers. And while the group has made it this far in the quest, their good fortune is about to run out.

Joining Mercer for this eight-part Force Grey series are our returning lineup of featured players:

  • Chris Hardwick (@midnight, Talking Dead) as Whil Wee-Tawn, a “bookish elf wizard”
  • Ashley Johnson (Blindspot) as Dagny Halvor, a half-orc cleric who builds all manner of tiny clockwork automatons.
  • Jonah Ray (Mystery Science Theater 3000) as Joppa, a human monk with a deep-seated passion for fishing.
  • Shelby Fero (Robot Chicken) as Brawlwin Chainminer, a dwarf fighter with “a floating shield and a crippling fear of heights.”
  • Utkarsh Ambudkar (The Mindy Project) as Hitch, a human rogue who always has a joke at the ready.

Who should play the beautiful half-elf girl, Calliope? Why, none other than special guest star, Brian Posehn! Sure, Poshen’s been on Community, New Girl, and he was even a minister in Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer. But The Sarah Silverman Program is always going to be our go-to-credit for him.

We can save you the trouble of casting a memory spell by offering a reminder that you can watch Force Grey: Giant Hunters episode one here, episode two here, episode three here, and episode 4 here. This fall, you’ll be able to pick up Storm King’s Thunder from Wizards of the Coast and star in your own adventure with your friends.

Force Grey: Giant Hunters will be back next Monday, August 15 with a brand new episode, and it will continue on a weekly basis until we get to the end!
