Jack Black and Kyle Gass, aka comedy rock duo Tenacious D, are gearing up for their fourth annual Festival Supreme, and in a press release, the two promised that this year’s festivities, headlined by Flight of the Conchords and “Weird Al” Yankovic, will be “a once in a lifetime escape to an off-world extravaganza.”
The comedy festival, which will go down at the Shrine Expo Hall & Grounds in Los Angeles on October 29, will feature three performance venues: “Omega Stage is outside under the Milky Way Galaxy and will be rocking all night long with the likes of FLIGHT OF THE CONCHORDS and “WEIRD AL” YANKOVIC!!!,” they wrote very excitedly. “The gorgeous Shrine Auditorium will be transformed into the Crab Nebula Stage with PATTON OSWALT and SARAH SILVERMAN throwing down hard, and that’s just the tip of the meteorite! The Expo Hall will be home to the Space Disco where bad ass DJ’s will keep your asses moving thru hyperspace like a boss.”
Aside from the aforementioned acts, the stacked line-up also includes Will Forte, Fred Armisen, Eric Andre, Tim Heidecker, Jenny Slate, and a bunch of others. Perhaps the most interesting inclusion, though, is Mac DeMarco, whose music is not purely comedic. Still, he’s always had a goofy public persona, and he’s taken some successful stabs at comedy, like on The Eric Andre Show and Tyler, The Creator’s Loiter Squad. We can’t wait to see all those acts on absurdly space-themed stages.
Tickets go on sale August 12 on the festival’s website, but in the meantime, check out the full line-up on the festival poster below and let us know who you’re most excited to see.
