If there’s one thing we truly love here at Nerdist, it’s Liam Neeson… sorry, Neesons. Whether wielding a light saber, training Batman, building weapons out of sticks to fight wolves, or commanding a team of former Army Rangers, nothing gets our blood pumping like the adventures of one of the world’s best actors. Over the past few years, Neeson has worked his butt off to turn his original one-off actioner, Taken, into a global phenomenon. Now, with two films already out in the word, a completion to the Bryan Mills saga is about to hit theaters in the form of Tak3n, and the first official trailer has just been released:
When he’s falsely accused of murder, Mills attempts to clear his name and discover who’s responsible for the horrific crime while he protects the last remaining member of his family from certain death.
Surely things will tie back into the events of the previous films (one does not simply go after Mills for no reason). Since there’s currently no talk of a fourth entry in the franchise, it seems safe to assume Tak3n’s going to be the last film in this series for a while, and based on what we see in this trailer, things are about to go off the rails.
What’s shown in these two and a half minutes looks like some of the best action the series has ever featured, and we can’t wait to see what the final product looks like.
Tak3n hits theaters January 9, 2015.
