It’s not very often we are eagerly awaiting the arrival of terrifying demonic spirits to come into our homes and scare the crap out of us, but not only have we been looking forward to them showing up for awhile now, we just got great news that they are two weeks early.Today Cinemax announced that the pilot episode of their new series—Outcast, based on the supernatural horror comic book series from Robert Kirkman (The Walking Dead)—is available to stream for free across multiple platforms and devices. And you can watch the full episode above right now!
The series premiere episode, titled “A Darkness Surrounds Him,” won’t air for another two weeks on regular TV (Friday, June 3rd at 10 p.m.), but anyone can watch it on Facebook and YouTube starting today, as well as On Demand for HBO and Cinemax subscribers, or they can stream them through Max GO and HBO GO. (It’s also available on Playstation 4 consoles. Options!)
But we know you’ve been looking forward to this as much as we have, so who wants to waste any more time. You can just stay put and watch it right here. and oh man, that opening title sequence alone made us uneasy.
If you are unfamiliar with the comic, it follows Kyle Barnes (played by Patrick Fugit of Almost Famous), “a young man who has been plagued by demonic possession all his life” who reaches out to Reverend Anderson (Philip Glenister), “a preacher with personal demons of his own.” In his quest for a normal life, Kyle discovers something that “could change his fate—and the fate of the world—forever.”
