It’s been since October of last year that we last scampered about in the mean streets of Fabletown as the city’s huffing and puffing hard ass of a sheriff, Bigby Wolf. Telltale Games confirmed today that we’ll be making a return back to the wonderfully unsettling world of Fables very soon.
Smoke and Mirrors, the second episode of the five part series, is set to release during the first week of February. Kevin Bruner, Telltale Games CTO, made the announcement on the studio’s forums today.
“The episode is looking really good (as is the rest of the season!),” wrote Bruner. “We are very concerned about the long delay for this episode, but this is one of those occasions where several things conspired against us (not to mention the additional delays due to the holidays). I won’t dive into the details, but it’s been an unusual and specific set of circumstances and we do not anticipate it happening again as we go forward with the rest of the season.”
It’s all right, Telltale Games, we know you guys didn’t mean to keep us waiting. Not to mention that you did give us the premiere episode of The Walking Dead: Season Two to hold us over. The ending to the first episode of The Wolf Among Us is still resting squarely on many brains, so I doubt the time in between is going to matter once we fire up the next episode in a few weeks.
