As if the wait for Far Cry 4 wasn’t hard enough, Ubisoft has provided us with enticing details about the upcoming title’s DLC pass today. Included in the pack is a new PvP mode, a prison escape mission and Yetis. Yes, Yetis. You can’t expect to spend time trekking through the Himalayas and not see one of those abominable beasts. Good thing we don’t have to wait too long!
The pass, which will be available for purchase on launch, will retail at $29.99 and will include the exclusive day one mission The Syringe. Though individual pricing for each of the expansions has yet to be revealed, the company has stated that purchasing the pass gives you a 20% discount on the content.
So what does the season pass include? Keep reading!
The Syringe: This day one “exclusive” mission challenges players with the task of keeping a dangerously potent recipe as far away from Pagan Min’s forces as possible. Both co-op and single-player modes will be available ways of attacking this quest.
Escape from Durgesh Prison: If you’ve ever wondered what it’s like to escape from prison, this one may be for you! Yep, that’s right, a prison break. After being tortured, Ajay and Hurk must find a way out of Yuma’s prison. That’s about all we know about this mission but Ubisoft revealed that it will involve teaming up with a friend, which means more co-op!
Hurk Deluxe Pack: Hurk is back (from Far Cry 3) and better than ever! This DLC will include 5 missions. Though two missions remain untitled, the three revealed were: Yak Farm, Blood Ruby, and Hurk’s Redemption. Aside from the names, that is all Ubisoft has revealed about this set.
Overrun: This new PvP mission offers the option to play as either the Rakshasa or the Golden Path. Similar to Capture the Flag or Domination missions popular in other first person shooters, this multiplayer mode tasks players with the job of capturing territory around the Kyrat map while protecting it from enemies at the same time.
Valley of the Yetis: Now, for the moment you’ve all been waiting for. Let’s talk about what we know about the Yeti mission so far. After crash-landing his helicopter, Ajay must fend for himself in the frozen Himalayan landscape while he searches for tools to both upgrade and protect his camp from a dangerous night prowling cult. Sounds scary? Don’t worry, this mission offers the option to co-op. Be wary of where you explore though, as Yetis are known to inhabit the darkest caves. Unlike Luke, you won’t have the force or a trusty lightsaber to aid you, so you better be on your game.
The publisher will also offer the Far Cry 4 Gold Edition which includes the full game and the season pass for $90. Once purchased, the season pass will allow players to download each of the DLC when they become made available.
Far Cry 4 is set to release November 18, 2014 on PC, PS4, PS3, Xbox 360 and Xbox One. Are you ready to take on a Yeti? Let us know in the comments below.
