Earlier this week, we spoke with Star Wars scribe Gary Whitta all about his debut novel Abomination, and gave you an exclusive sneak peek at chapter one. The historical fantasy novel takes us back to a dark, brutal, twisted version of ninth century England full of invading Viking forces, noble knights, mad priests, and eldritch beasts from beyond the pale. Case in point: a man is eviscerated by a demonic scarab-like creature, and that’s just in the first nine pages.
Not only is Abomination notable for being Whitta’s first novel, but also because it is published through Inkshares, a digital publisher that employs a partial crowdfunding model to help authors bring their works into the world. Abomination has already surpassed its fundraising goal (within 24 hours actually), so digital and physical copies of the book are both available for purchase now. And trust me when I say that this is a book that, once you start, you won’t want to put it down.
Today, we have a special treat for you as well — exclusive excerpts of chapters two and three for your reading pleasure.
