Exclusive: Hasbro Announces STAR WARS LOOPIN’ CHEWIE Game

It’s not news to say that Star Wars crosses generations, but it still surprises me. Kids are discovering Star Wars for the first time on a regular basis. The presence of animated series such as Star Wars: The Clone Wars and Star Wars Rebels undoubtedly contribute to the galactic education of younglings, but kids also come to Star Wars because of their parents. Fandom is passed down like a beloved heirloom. Manufacturers such as Hasbro realize that and seem to be constantly making new Star Wars products geared towards kids like their brand new Star Wars Loopin’ Chewie game, which we are exclusively revealing today.

The 2-3 player game is the first item from the Hasbro Star Wars line to be released this year. It gives the popular Loopin’ Louie concept a makeover from the galaxy far, far away. Chewbacca fits into a mini Millennium Falcon that swings around the playing area to take out stormtroopers. Players can help Chewie navigate by using controls to swing him into or away from the racks with stormtroopers. With all the spinning and smooth moves, the Millennium Falcon is the perfect choice of ships for the game. Just remember: Let the Wookiee win! It’s for the best.

Loopin’ Chewie is for younglings and Padawans 4-years-old and up. Play with your children or keep all the fun for yourself. We won’t judge.

Loopin’ Chewie will be available in September at most major retailers and in the Hasbro Toy Shop for $24.99. Are you putting the game on your shopping list? Let us know in the comments.

  1. That Guy says:

I wonder why it says the game is for 2-4 players when the one pictured is for up to 3?

    • It’s a great fit at 3, given those of us who already have the original Loopin’ Louie but occasionally can’t muster the full 4.  This makes for another benefit of buying a game you (essentially) already have if you’re a big board gamer.

    • Maura W. says:

The fourth player gets to stand by and watch the other three have fun.

  2. Danicia says:

    ABSOLUTELY YES.

  3. Kerberos says:

This is a remake of the loopin Louie game. Check out cinemassacres gameplay of it. It’s hilarious!  http://cinemassacre.com/2011/09/09/board-james-loupin-louie/
