Sharpen your colored pencils, folks, because the time to play outside the lines with Jamie Fraser and all those hunky Scotsmen is now. No, that’s not even a metaphor, but a literal thing: Diana Gabaldon’s epic time traveling fantasy novel series—turned very good Starz TV series—Outlander has jumped on the ever-expanding adult coloring book bandwagon. Nothing says “Tartan Fever!” like being able to color all over everyone’s favorite time-traveling Sassenach and her handsome, soulmate-y beau.
Getting the official release treatment on Tuesday, October 27th (but you can also pre-order it now), the book features the words of Gabaldon and over 95 pages filled with black and white illustrations from renowned artists like Juan Alarcón, Yvonne Gilbert, Craig Phillips, Jon Proctor, Tomislav Tomić, and Rebecca Zomchek. From scenic Scottish vistas to medicinal herb cabinets and intricate clothing details, there’s a smorgasbord of things to color-fy—all that’s needed are a few of your favorite Crayolas and some imagination to sing (draw) a song (proverbial) of a lass that is bold. Say, could that lass be you? IT COULD BE IF YOU GET THE COLORING BOOK.
But don’t just take our word for it — check out a few pages in the gallery below and re-watch our interview with the stars and creators from San Diego Comic-Con:
